I was rolling around in my sheets and grunted

I was rolling around in my sheets and grunted. It's around midnight and I couldn't get to sleep. There was too many thoughts and scenarios floating through my head. I covered my face with a pillow and groaned loudly in frustration.

This wasn't going to work.

Grunting, I get up and walk towards the kitchen. Maybe warm milk will help. As I made my way toward the kitchen, I heard whispers. Not even thinking, I barged in, not even caring about interrupting.

"Hello." I muttered and saw Clarissa and my mother looking at me in amusement.

"Well looks who's up? I thought you went to bed a while ago. How are you sweetie?" Mom asked with a smile. "Clarissa has been telling me what you guys had been up to. It's been awhile since we talked."

That's true. My parents had been exploring and traveling the world. Since my mother's medical bills were nonexistent and my father worked multiple hours before I made my wish, they had a lot of money saved. I wished that I was able to join them, but I'd been stuck here with a sorceress chasing my ass.

I responded with a shrug. "Tired."

Mom rolled her eyes.

"A man of many words. You teenagers can be such a pain." She chuckled and shook her head in exasperation. Mom addressed Clarissa with a soft smile. "I'll leave you two alone now. It was nice having a conversation with you, Sweetheart. We need to spend more time together. How about we go on a spa day after prom? A way to relax?"

Clarissa nodded her head with a smile. Mom stood and gave me a kiss on the cheek before walking out of the kitchen. I turned to Clarissa in confusion.

"What did you guys talk about?" I ask curiously.

Rissa chuckled and shook her head.

"Sorry Nate, it's called girl talk. According to the Internet and every girl I had met so far, it is confidential information."

I tried not to pout at that. Who knew what those two were talking about. Did my mom embarrass me? Oh god. She probably did.

"Whatever. Why are you up?" I ask Clarissa. She shrugged and gave me a sheepish smile.

"Louis and I couldn't sleep. There was too much on my mind. I don't know why Louis is up but he's very chatty right now. I thought about getting a snack and maybe taking Louis out for a flight. Do you want to join us?"

A flight?

"Sure?" I said, sounding like a question.
