XXXI.

People began to scream until the emergency lights activated. I heard teachers trying to calm the students, but I was too tense to pay attention. I observed my surroundings and saw Nate jump off the stage and heading toward something.

I didn't have time to think about what he's doing.

What was Marissa planning?

I got my answer when I heard a growl.

I looked around and spotted hellhounds at the entrances. There was no way out. Students began screaming and tried to run when the hellhounds started attacking.

I needed to protect the students.

I quickly put all the students and teachers to sleep and visualized them floating in the air. The magic obeyed my command, bringing them up to the ceiling. It was high enough so that the hellhounds couldn't reach them. I sighed in relief and held Nate's bag tighter that contained the jewelry box and lamp. I needed to find the rest of the group, they weren't effected by my magic.

I ran but was surrounded by hounds.

"Louis!" I shouted, summoning my dragon.

I heard a giant roar and a huge body breathe fire at the hellhounds. I smiled at Louis. Good boy.

I ran and searched for my friends, cursing my long dress. I look around the whole gym and saw no one in sight. It wasn't until I saw a table move that I found them. I lifted up the table cloth and saw all of them huddled together. They all yelled until they saw it was me. Nate got out to examine me and seemed satisfied that I was uninjured.

"Guys, I need your help. Louis can only take on so many and more hellhounds are coming. I need to find Marissa and I can't do it unless I know you guys will be fine." I begged.

"What are we supposed to do? Fight magical dogs from hell?" Tyler said incredulously.

"I got it!" Zach beamed. He started searching through his pockets. What was he doing? Suddenly, Zach let out a 'yes'. He took his hand out of his pocket. He brought out four small bottles with different colored liquids.

"Zach sweetie, this isn't the time to drink!" Chloe chastised.

"No. They're potions. I may or may not have bought a couple things from Mrs. Jini's shop." Zach smirked.

"That's genius! But there's only four." Kayla frowned.

"You guys take it, I'll be fine." Nate insisted. Without arguing, everyone got out from their hiding spot. Zach passed the bottles to Tyler, Kayla, and Chloe.

"So, what exactly do these potions do?" Tyler asked as he eyes the potion suspiciously.

"No clue. Cheers!" Zach cheered and gulped his bottle.

I didn't hear the rest of the arguments because I heard growls and I turned around.

"I think you need a bow, Nate?" I asked.
