Swelling
Tadashi sighed as he closed the front door behind him, rubbing a hand over his face. His face felt sore and dried blood surrounded his nostrils, and he could still smell the metallic odour that it possessed, it was almost suffocating against his senses.
"Hey. I'm home."
"Hi, honey, how's your day been today-" Cass's heart stopped when she noticed her nephew's battered and bruised face, his cheek swollen and purple. "Oh my gosh! What happened?! Are you okay, sweetie?! Just sit on that stool over there, i'll get Baymax!"
"Aunt Cass that isn't-"
But just like good old Cass, she had already returned with the marshmallow bot.
"Hello Tadashi." Baymax greeted his creator. "Shall I perform a scan?"
"Please." Tadashi nodded, not seeing any way of getting out of it, watching as Baymax scanned him momentarily and then looked at him.
"Scan complete. You seem to have some swelling on your right cheek and some minor scarring. If I am correct, you suffered these injuries from getting into a fight."
"A fight?" Cass wondered in confusion, then looked at Tadashi with concern. "Tadashi? What went on while you were out?"
Tadashi pulled up a wooden stool, sitting down and sighing.
"I had to, Aunt Cass. I had to help her."
"Help?" Cass asked. "What do you mean? Help who?"
"Look, some guy was harassing a girl and I stepped in to help her, okay? I may have landed a couple punches, but nothing too serious, I was defending myself and that girl. But then we got into a fight and-"
"You got into a fight? Oh no, please tell me you didn't use your powers! You used your powers, didn't you?!" Aunt Cass face-palmed. "Honey, what have I told you about this? Both myself and you have gone through rules about powers! You only use them if it's either an emergency or a last resort!"
"But Aunt Cass you don't understand!" Tadashi was trying to defend his side of the now growing argument. "If I didn't help her then she could have been violated! Do you know how that kind of violation makes a person feel?! It makes them feel ashamed about themselves! She couldn't have been any younger than Danika, what if that was her?! What would you expect me to do then?!"
Aunt Cass went to speak but held her tongue, knowing her nephew had a point. She sighed, giving in. If her adoptive niece was hurt in such a manner, she would never forgive herself. She'd already lost people who were dear to her, and she couldn't lose others.
"Tadashi," Cass sighed, folding her arms, she was leaning against the kitchen counter. "i'm not saying that you shouldn't have stepped in, but you could have gotten even more hurt than you are now- or worse."
"Cass makes an excellent point, Tadashi."
"Shut up, bot. I didn't ask for your input." Tadashi said harshly, his eyebrows narrowing and his expression turning sour, though saying such a thing wasn't his intention, it just slipped out. "Sorry, buddy."
"Apology accepted." Baymax simply 'blinked', speaking in his usual monotone.
'I really need to learn to hold my tongue.'
Baymax started the procedure of caring for his creator, applying a cooling mist to the swelling that felt like fire. He couldn't stop a bruise from forming, but he could stop it from turning a nasty colour.
"This should help the swelling go down. I will tend to your other facial wounds soon. Some of them are open wounds, they will need to be stitched."
