Nobody answered the door, but the cars were parked out in front. The lights were also on in the house.

Instead of wasting her time knocking again, Evanee climbed on top of one of the cars and leaped towards the roof, pulling herself up. Thankfully, the roof wasn't steep so she was able to freely walk.

"Evanee, dear? Is that you?"

She almost slipped from the sudden surprise, but the raven haired girl caught herself. It was Mrs.Hyslop, her elderly neighbor.

"Oh, good evening, Mrs.Hyslop. It's me. I'm just getting into the house. Forgot my keys," she said nervously.

"Okay, dear. Be careful. Heaven only knows what's going on in that house?"

"In the house?" Evanee asked, expecting her neighbor to mainly be concerned by the fact that she was currently standing on her roof.

Mrs.Hyslop nodded, opening her front door. "Yes, inside. The ruckus has gone on for almost two days now. So much shouting. It's bad for my cats."

"Sorry about that. I'll make sure to check that," she apologized, watching her neighbor wave goodbye and go into her house.

Evanee sighed and walked towards her window, opening it with ease and jumping inside her room.

"Home, sweet home," she mumbled to herself. Though, that feeling of relief was gone instantly once she heard shouting from downstairs.

The two boys were probably still fighting. Quietly, Evanee walked out of her room and towards the stairs. She was about to shout at them until she heard her name.

"Evanee isn't the same person you supposedly fell in love with in high school. She grew up and she told you that. Get that through your thick skill. You can't just expect her to act that way you wanted her to act," Craig shouted.

"Supposedly? I loved her and I still do. She's hurting right now and I understand that. You don't know her like I do. She's still the same girl. She just needs time to get better and I am here to support her, no matter what you say."

This was getting way out of hand.

Craig was fuming. "Why don't you realize that she doesn't need you in her life? She doesn't want you. Why do you think she left? To get away from you. I'm all she has right now. She's broken, suicidal. She needs help. I'm the only one who can fix her."

That made Evanee's heart tug. This wasn't Craig. No. Craig was considerate, understanding, helpful. He wouldn't call her broken or suicidal. He cared about her.

It was hard to believe that now. Maybe he had been faking. Maybe it was all about proving that he could help Evanee better than anyone else could. Maybe it was all a game to him. Evanee's health and happiness was all a game.

The green eyed girl sat on the highest step of the stakes with her head leaning against the wall. This hurt. It hurt a damn lot.

Slowly, she got up and walked down the stairs to see Evan holding up Craig by the shirt and pushing him against the wall.

"Don't you ever say that again. She trusts you. That's something I'll probably never be able to say again. I made a lot of wrong choices, but I love her and everything you just said proved that you don't care about her. So fuck you."

Evan's arm went back, but he was stopped by a gentle hand. He turned around to see Evanee with tears in her eyes.

"Put him down, Evan."

He let Craig go and Craig fell to the floor and didn't get up; not that he wasn't able to. He was too busy staring at Evanee with wide eyes.

"Evanee," he breathed out. "How long have you been there?"
