Alex

Things happen, suddenly, unexpectedly. You can't have everything under control; you can only hold so much in your hands. At some point, letting go is what you need.

"Alex!"

I snapped back to reality when Lance called me.

We made it to the camp. Heavy breaths, trembling hands, rain soaked clothes. All the three of us, Sophia, Ken and I.

"Lance, si Xander, kailangan natin tulungan sila Xander" I said, gripping his hands tightly.

"Teka Alex, kalma. Ano bang nangyari?" Lance said while motioning me to sit first.

Rimmo gave each of us blankets before speaking.

"Alex, hinga. Ano bang nagyari? Nasan si Xander at Dennis?"

" Malapit na kami kina Dennis. Tapos nakarinig kami ng mga boses kaya napatigil kami. And then we saw 6 teenagers holding deadly weapons surrounding Dennis. Andun si Xander ngayon para bantayan at alalayan si Dennis just incase things went wrong, pero wag naman sana. He needs back-up ASAP."

"Ooooh. Exciting to, parang action movie lang!"

Napatingin kaming lahat kay Prince while giving him a "seryoso ka? anong pinagsasabi mo diyan- look".

"Ah- eh. Ibig kong sabihin, sige ba! Ready na kaming puntahan sila Xander! Ano guys? Tara na!" Prince said with a punch in the air. Kahit kelan talaga. Tsk.

"Teka hindi ba muna natin sasabihin sa mga tanders? Baka mas alam nila ang appropriate action para dito" Jem said calmly while looking at the coordinators and Barangay officials nearby.

Hindi ko na rin alam ang gagawin. Ang alam ko lang kailangan kong puntahan si Xander. Ngayon na.

"Alex, teka! San ka pupunta?!" sigaw ni Lance sa likod ko.

I stopped.

"Kay Xander. Pupuntahan ko sya. Kailangan nila tayo, kung ayaw nyo. Ako na lang, bantayan nyo na lang sila Sophia." I said with a cold tone.

"Teka, tropa tayo diba? Syempre sasamahan ka namin. Pero mahirap magpadalos-dalos lalo na at may posibilidad na may masaktan. Ganito ang gagawin natin, ako at si Lance ang sasama sayo, si Jem at Prince maiiwan kina Sophia at Ken para just incase kailanganin ng medical assisstance may makakapagsabi sa authorities agad-agad at the same time may makakapagbantay sa dalawang bata. We have 1 hour at most bago magpack-up at tuluyang umalis ang med team so kailangan natin kumilos ng mabilis. " Rimmo said, a guy like him is exactly what we need now.

"Okay" I said.

"Yeah! Lezz do thizz!" Prince said. Baliw talaga.

Xander

Shit. Shit. Shit.

Xander. Be a man. WAG KANG DUWAG!

Once they attack him, you come out and do whatever it takes to save the boy. You have to keep him safe, no matter what.

Nobody's gonna die in your hands again.

I won't let that happen even if it cost me my life.

"Ang dami nating delihensya ah" the boy with spiked hair finally spoke.

I saw Dennis took a step back while hugging the bag that Alex gave her.

"Wag kang matakot boy, hindi ka naman namin sasaktan. Ang samin lang share your blessings, diba mga tol?" sabi naman nung lalaking may piercing sa labi. Sumagot naman yung mga kasama nya.

"Nakita kasi namin kayo kasama yung mga rich kid sa program, akalain mo yun nabilog nyo yung ulo ng mga yun. HAHA! Pano nyo ginawa yun?! Turuan nyo naman kami! HAHAHA" sabi naman nung isang mataba na red ang buhok.

Nanginginig na ko. Nanginginig na ko sa galit.

"Ano na boy? Ibibigay mo samin yan o hindi ka na sisikatan ng araw? Malakas pa naman ang ilog ngayon, baka sa Pacific ocean ka na pulutin HAHAHAHA!" sabi ulit ni Spiky.

"Ano ko sira?! Sinong tinakot nyo?!" Sagot ni Dennis.

"Aba tol, sumasagot pa oh." sabi naman nung lalaking maraming singsing sa kamay.

"Boy, last chance mo na to, ibibigay mo samin yan o isasaksak ko sa baga mo tong hawak ko." Sabi ulit ni Spiky habang pinapakita yung balisong na hawak nya.

"Siguro naman hindi kayo ganun kabobo kasi alam nyo ang Pacific ocean, kaya maiintindihan nyo na wala akong balak ibigay ang kahit na ano sa inyo" matapang na sabi ni Dennis.

"Ah ganun?" sabi ni Spiky.

Before I could even react, someone stabbed Dennis at the back.

Alex

"Malayo pa ba Alex?!" tanong sakin ni Lance habang tumatakbo kami.

"Malapit na. Andito na... tayo"

I came to a halt. I couldn't believe it.

"Alex ba't ka tumigil?" Rimmo said.

I didn't respond. He realized the answer to his question soon after he saw what's infront of us.

Xander is sitting on top of a guy with a spiked hair, punching him one after another. His hands are covered with blood, I don't know whose blood it is. The guy beneath him is already unconscious. Is he dead? I can't tell.

There are 6 other bodies lying on the floor, my eyes grew wider when I saw Dennis bleeding.

"Dandan" I said, like a soft whisper to the wind. Tears falling out without warning.

Xander suddenly stopped as if someone turn off his switch. Then he turned his head towards us. His eyes were dead and cold.

The two guys beside me finally recovered somehow. Rimmo is the first to speak.

"Pare..."

Xander still seemed lost in his own trance stood up and pointed to the spiky haired guy.

"He killed him... He killed Daniel... " he said looking straight into my eyes.

I froze.

Xander walked towards me, slowly, until he's standing infront of me. He raised his hands and held my shoulders. I cringed but it seems like he didn't notice it.

"Alex Kate, forgive me. I wasn't able to save Daniel" He said, tears flowing from his eyes. I could tell, the rain already stopped.

"But look! I've revenged him! Finally I've revenged him!" He continued, shaking me in the process. He's smiling. The kind of smile I never imagined to see from him. The kind of smile that would give you chills, the smile of a killer.

"Xander... you're L" that's all I can manage to say.

"Yes Alex Kate, I am L".
