Chapter 2:Useless

   Later that night, I heard my mothers cheerful voice," welcome home, hun."As I cautiously walk down the hallway and listen to the floor creaking as my father stumbles closer. "He's drunk as usual", I think to myself looking down at my trembling hands."why am I trembling again, that useless bastard isn't scary." I try to reassure myself and make a fist with my hand and peek around the corner , my heart beats faster and faster as my eyes widen with fear. Suddenly, I see him smile at mom, grab her hair and throw her violently toward the ground. My body trembles more as I see my mom still smiling, with tears in her eyes she says," it's okay, your not mad at me are you,For being so useless?" She smiles wider as tears begin streaming down her face. "I-If I could just make some more money we would be happy!" He made a fist and lifted toward her, within that time I snapped. Running at him with raging tears flowing rapidly down my cheeks, I grabbed his arm and twisted it backwards then trying to force him to the ground. "YOU BASTARD! IVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU, IF I EVER SEE YOU HURTING HER AGAIN...I SWEAR ILL-- I was cut off by a sharp pain, he broke out of my grasp, grabbed me and threw me at the wall with a smile and a slight chuckle," you'll what? Sorry, I couldn't find the patience to listen to your little speech." He says with a smug look on his face as he reaches for her again, she was in a daze and was to  surprised to move. I slowly get up ignoring the pain from hitting the wall, he looks at me a little shocked but smiles again about to speak. "I don't even feel human anymore," I think to myself as I slowly lift my head toward him"I don't think I ever hated someone this much, I'm sorry mother but I will do anything to protect the ones I love." I continue thinking to myself but am soon interrupted by the clear fear in his eyes as his eyes widen and he steps back. I could feel the intensity of my stare but I didn't think it was that intimidating, I see his body tremble and I smile."Y-You a-arent my daughter, t-those eyes...GET AWAY FROM ME!" he shocks me with his words but I stay inhumanly calm." You didn't let me finish mister, you see I am your daughter but I do not view you as my dad." I smile and step closer laughing at his scared yet priceless reaction. "For you see, I will KILL YOU if you ever hurt her again!" He started to cry and stormed out the door shaking, stumbling and tripping on the way. Standing there I really didn't feel human, this rage made me insane I thought as I began to laugh uncontrollably."L-Luna?" I heard a weak trembling voice and quickly stopped in realization as my sanity quickly flood back to me when I saw a faded smile and cowardly stare in my mothers eyes.I fell to my knees next to her and began screaming and crying"I'm sorry, I just wanted to protect you!" I looked up with a pitiful look in my eyes as I saw her still trembling, yet she snuck in that kind smile and held me with trembling hands."I-It's ok Luna...you don't have to risk yourself for useless trash like me" tears are now streaming down both our faces as I hug her back"don't think of yourself that way! None of its true! Your everything to me, I love you, I want to protect you! I pull her into a tighter embrace as she slowly stops trembling and smiles, the brightest smile I've ever seen."I can't believe I was afraid of you there..."She laughs slightly"Thank you, Luna" that smile and those words will always continue to echo into my thoughts but sadly, the thought of being a raging monster will now haunt me, but like I said"I will do anything to protect the ones I love."
