Chapter 12: A loving father

       Kuran and his father were talking privately behind the cart full of magic items after that touching moment we had.  Both of them seemed to have bonded a lot from that moment and were rather cheerful."Hey, Luna." Kuran jumps up from behind the cart calling my name with a wide smile." Y-yes?" I walk forward as both of them start making their way slowly toward me." Why did you want to travel here?" My eyes widen as short flashes of memories from leaving quickly fled through my mind. " I had too, to protect the ones I love, I'm too weak." They both look at me worriedly and I smile at them telling them okay. " Do you have a place to stay?" The merchant asks with suspicion and I shake my head." Well," The man starts speaking with a smile." How would you like staying with us?!" I stare at him in shock and excitement for a second then my smile widens." Really?! You would let me stay with you guys? I mean," I clear my throat and try to seem calm."I mean, if I'm not too much trouble I wouldn't mind it. Kuran playfully hits the top of my head." Lossen up, of course you will be of no trouble and I know your excited." Both of them laugh at me but I can't help but laugh along," your right. Thank you, I really am grateful for your hospitality and welcoming attitudes." They smile and the man wraps his arm around me and I'm now in a welcoming embrace, next thing I know I'm a foot off the ground." I'm so happy. I can't believe I actually found people as kind as them." I think to myself then I hear a cheerful laugh from Kuran," cmon dad, put her down." He carefully sets me down and we all laugh, as the man stops he stretches his hand toward me with that welcoming smile." Welcome home Luna, my names Brock but you can call me dad if you like!" He says with a cheesey smile as I shake his hand. " Dad," I return the smile" I like that." Kuran and Brock both look like their trying to hold in their laughter than Kuran busts up laughing." You don't have to call him dad, idiot! That was just a joke!" I laugh slightly and reply," I know, but I just thought it would be a nice thought. Having a dad like you." I smile a bright smile and they both look at me with a bit of pity and shock but seeing my smile they slowly push that aside." Well, I welcome you as a daughter than. Call me whatever you like but now that you are part of our family, I have the privilege of protecting you too." I smile and hug my new family, then Kuran grabs my hand and leads us down a few houses to a cute looking house." Wow, it's so nice!" I exclaim as dad unlocks the door. Walking inside I look around and I'm surprised by how spacious and comfy the inside of the little house is." I can't believe I'll be living here, it's so nice." Brock smiles politely at me as he watches me twirl excitedly down the hall." I'll go start dinner, Kuran show her around." Dad walks off towards the sparkly kitchen and Kuran takes me down the hall. " this is dads room," he points to the first door on the right and walks forward a little." This is the bathroom." He opens the next door on the left, right before the hallway turns revealing a cute and kind of small bathroom, well at least compared to the rest of the house then turns left continuing down the hall." This is my room, it's right across from yours so if you need anything don't be scared to come ask." I smile and open the door that he said was mine. The bedroom didn't have much in it but there was a lot of space, an empty dresser, a cute little bed and a bookshelf with two dusty books in one corner." It was a guest bedroom but, no one really used it, you can decorate it and rearrange it all you want." I look around excitedly then jump on the bed."this feels nice, I've never had a bed before, we were too poor. I slept on the floor." Kuran walks in and sits beside me on the bed." Well, I won't pry any of your old life outta ya but, don't worry you'll get stronger. Tomorrow you can explore all you like, there are different guilds and many different items you can buy. This city is pretty nice but you never know what's lurking in the shadows, be careful out there." I nod stretched out on the bed as he carefully moves my hair away from my face." But, get some rest I'll wake you when dinners done."
I nod sleepily and start to drift off as I see Kuran smile back at me before closing the door.
