Chapter 21: Power

        As soon As Kuran stepped out of the bathroom I jumped up and was pulling him through the door." Come on, we're gonna be late!" We both rush down the hall to a room labeled "HIYOGI" and I knocked on the door excitedly."..." We sat there for a few minuets in silence waiting for the door to open."maybe the mas-" Hiyogis door flings open cutting off Kuran." I told you not to call me master." Hiyogi startled me and I jump backwards yet Kuran is standing there straight faced as usual." Oh...Master, I thought you had gone out or something." Master smiles at me and invites me in as Kuran is seemingly tagging along glaring at the man." So, what's up with you and girls...old man?" Kuran asks nonchalantly with his back against the wall as I sit down in a comfortable chair." What the- who the hell you callin OLD! Do I look old to you?!" Master gets furious but it's kinda funny." That's not what I asked Geaser." Master tries to calm his temper but is still giving death glares to Kuran." I don't know what your talking about, but you need to learn your place. I told you to call me SIR!" Kuran rolls his eyes." Aye, Sir." ( A wild Happy phrase appeared.XD) Master gets even more ticked off and he flings the door open and grabs Kurans shirt and drags him down the hall." Oi, Watch it!" I shrug at their stupidity and follow, closing the door behind me. We walked past the hangout and turned to another door that was a huge room filled with doors, I guessed they are all training rooms of some sort."'I will be teaching you and Luna a basic fire spell first, depending on how fast you learn we might continue into the other basics." Master leads us into a room, it's lit only by a few candles and completely empty except for a drawer with a sink built into it and a bucket beside it."
This room has a resistance spell on every wall so it won't catch fire, sadly we cannot cast a resistance spell on every Mage I take in so you will risk being burned, frozen, electrocuted, etc. but I, for one think that is the best way to learn how to control magic. for every time you cast a spell you risk the chance of getting hurt or in some cases even killed. But magic is power, it can be controlled by a greater power, you just have to let magic fear the power within you instead of fearing the power within magic." Master explains magic and its power, he was just rambling but I took every word to heart. I wanted to be powerful with all my heart, not to be feared but to be able to easily protect those who are in danger. Smiling at Masters words he stiffens up," sorry for rambling, lets get started. Master moved his body into a stance as Kuran walked to the center of the room ready to learn with me. Hiyogi spread his feet out into a fighting stance and made symbols in the air, the movement of his hand was followed by a red-orange light. A flame shot out of his palm after he stopped making air symbols and a magic circle with odd symbols appeared and faded after the flame shot. I was standing there in excitement and shock, I had never seen a spell before and it was amazing. I wanted to try it." That's how it's done, you don't have to do the fighting stance but, in my opinion the more movement you push into it the more control you have but, magic is different for everyone....now, Luna you wanna try?" I jump up and down and run over to master."yes please!" Master repeated the signs slowly so that I could see them and the next time he asked me to repeat them with him. My hand was followed by a very light stream of orange and at the end only sparks shot out." Good, your getting there." Hiyogis words gave me confidence, smiling at him We tried it again but a bit faster, already I almost had the movements memorized for the most part. The glow following me remained the same color and again, only sparks."Luna, you have to think of a reason to fight, a reason to be strong. Set a goal and never give up on it...having a goal you HAVE to attain will easily give you power." Remembering my promise to mom and the wish I made on that trail to protect Kuran as well, "all my friends...I don't ever want to see them suffer..I have to protect them, I will protect them..I need power." Confidence flowed through my body and Kuran and master look at me with a bit of surprise as my eyes burn with compassion and I flawlessly take on the different stances and symbols in order to cast this spell. The light following my every move was fire itself not just a glow, and the circle that formed around my wrist and faded the symbols made of flames spun. Fire shot out like a cannon yet I had control, the fire would bend and twist at my will. The blazing stream of fire spun around the room, dancing like a Japanese dragon and once I made a fist the the flame instantly parishes into little ruffs of smoke. Suddenly I hear master clapping." That was AMAZING Luna, I didn't even have to teach you the full potential of that spell, you learned it on your own! I've never seen anyone who learns that quick." Kurans eyes were as wide as I've ever seen them and he was trying to speak but couldn't." Wanna try to beat that, Kuran?" Master says teasingly snapping Kuran out of his daze."huh?...oh..y-yeah..I guess I'll try." Kuran walks up to master and he begins teaching Kuran. Stepping back I look at my hands as surprise fills my mind I collapse into a corner smiling and watching Kuran."uh..like this?" I hear bits of their conversation but I feel my thoughts begin to overflow and suddenly I remember the rage that I felt that day, against HIM. I feel a bit angry at the thought of him but that soon fades away as I see moms face, her expression to my insanity. Questions endlessly run through me" what if this power is too much for me? What if...what if..." My mind was attacking me from all angles as I felt like I was swimming through an endless see if black nothingness and my body felt as if it weren't even there at all. Suddenly I see a bright flash and snap out of my daze." I DID IT! I finally did it!" I saw a blurry body in the distance that seemed to be Kuran, he shot a small stream of fire from his palm it looked like masters but didn't resemble mine yet. Everything faded into darkness again and I saw a gruesome sight. Something I never would have expected to happen so easily."KURAN!!!"
