Chapter 26: Unstable Wolf

" Hey, Hey! Don't cry, I was just joking." I stop my tears then punch master in the shoulder aggressively but not enough to hurt the strong man." Don't joke about killing Kuran!" Master just laughs and finally replies seriously." We can't have him paralyzed all day, that can hurt him over a certain amount of time so, well just have to cage him." Master gets up and throws the stuff body on his shoulder." Follow me, well keep him in here while this is going on." I follow him down the training hall and at the end there's a door that leads down into a basement area with a few empty jail cells." We used to experiment with certain spells down here but, some people ended up dieing so now it is made illegal to do that." Master sets Kuran down in the cell and rods him of his paralysis with a purification charm then he quickly runs out the cell, slamming and locking the door before Kuran regained use of his body. Panting a little, Kuran hands me the key and told me I can only unlock the door when the sunrises tomorrow." I would recommend having someone be with him at all times but I have things to do and you look like you would fall asleep watching him. Do you know anyone else who would help you watch him?" My mind instantly shot to Rose but she wasn't in the guild, I continued thinking and thought of Sara but watching a demon she would probably kill him. Finally I remembered Rai and my face lit up," Rai could!" I said with a smile." Rai, huh? He sure is a cheerful one, yeah, he should work." Master heads up the stairs."Keep an eye on him, I'll go fetch Rai for you." Nodding, I stare off into Kurans terrifying blood red eyes and begin to worry if he will ever come back, remembering his smile makes things even worse and I take a step closer to the cell." Kuran, I know your in there." I find myself trying to speak over his petrifying growls and demonic nature as I slowly inch toward him." Hey Kuran, remember when we first met?" I smile at him, even though he clearly won't listen to me and continue walking forward." The first time I saw you, you were my knight in shining armor...you were there to save me right when I needed you." He stops growling for a split second trying to shake off his wolf instincts." To be honest, I don't really like men...not until you came around, my father was a terrible man and I will always hate him for what he did to me and mom." I saw one eye flash for less than a second so I continued to push forward, I was getting really close now." And you took care of me, you let me into your home and shared your secrets with me. Im sorry I haven't been like that to you." Kuran stops growling and backs up with his eyes still a crimson red, standing right next to the bars." I wish I wasn't such a burden to you, I want to be able to protect you and care for you." Trusting that he was calmed down when his eyes faded back to their normal color I rest my forehead on the bars." Master, why haven't you shown me this room, wow! These stairs are creaky. Creakity creak creak!" Upon hearing Rai's voice Kuran went back to his out of control state and lunged for me but before he could touch me I jumped back and slipped with a small, fragile shriek." Luna! Are you okay?! Woah! What the hell happened to that guy?!" Rai rushed toward me then jumped at the sight of Kuran." Rai, don't waste all your energy, you guys are supposed to be up all night." Master says while calmly stepping off the last step."he didn't hurt you did he?!" Rai scans me and once he sees the huge bite mark on my arm he pulled my arm toward him in a protective fashion." You let him do that?! How could he hurt you like that! I swear once he's back to normal...ill..ill...uh...punch him! Yeah, I'll punch him...in the face! But for now hold still." Rai made a single symbol with his hand and used it to trace the area of my wound. Next thing I know the opening quickly seals itself now all that's left are a few scratches and dry blood." Wow! That's amazing!" He looks at me with a smile, "it's just a basic healing spell, the pain will still linger for about an hour." I nod my head and thank him while caressing the scratches in awe." Well, I'll be in my office if you need anything, there's a bathroom up the stairs and to the left, you might wanna scrub off that blood. Master states while walking up the stairs." Thanks master!" I state with a smile and run up the stairs after asking Rai to watch Kuran alone for a second.
