Chapter 16: Jealousy and a straight-faced Kuran

      After stuffing the books back in the shelf I head out to the door, I don't see Kuran and assumed he went out front already." Hey, who the hell are you? But more importantly...what do you want?" Kuran Is calmly staring at rose as I walk outside, he doesn't answer rose and she gets more annoyed but both of them stop and stare at me as I walk towards them." LUNA! THank goodness," Rose rushes up to me and points behind her without looking."This guy won't stop staring at me." I bust up laughing hearing her reaction and they both stare at me confused."sorry, this is Kuran...he's the one that is letting me stay with him and his family. He was worried about me and wanted to tag along, if that's okay with you." Kuran walks over to me to get in on our conversation silently as Rose whispers to me."you sure he ain't a weirdo...some type of pervert or stalker?" She says trying to keep Kuran from hearing." I didn't expect you to trust him right away but, he's a good person. He saved me in the woods on my way here and let me into his family." I smile at her and look at him, he somehow found a toothpick again and is chewing on it and I giggle." He's nothing to be afraid of." Rose looks at me then looks at Kiran with a judging expression." Hmpf. I don't know...but if he gets in my way...I won't struggle to slap the heck outta him." She says exceptingly as I nod at her and smile. "Hey, what's up?" Kuran appears behind the both of us from out of nowhere shocking me and rose as we turn around shocked." Now he talks." Rose looks at him weirdly then starts walking off"alright, enough of wasting time. I told a friend of mine that you would be coming to the Mage guild tonight...If I'm late, he'll probably freeze me for a few hours." She shivers while walking and me and Kuran shrug at each other and follow her." So, who's this "friend" of yours?" I am now walking side by side with rose as Kuran is a few feet away staring at everything as he walks. I put up air quotations when I said friend and smirked but felt a bit stupid when she didn't blush at all." My brother, he's pretty good at magic...I recommend you become friends with him." I try to imagine what Roses brother might look like but after a few minutes of trying to imagine I gave up. Kuran appears right behind me and startles me again but he says nothing and I try to ignore him but can't help but smile. We turned into an alleyway and I quickly wiped away my goofy smile, and stiffened up."I'm so nervous." I think to myself as doubtful statements run through my mind so much my mind turns blank after a few seconds and I fall onto my knees just staring at the door." Hey, you okay?" Rose says walking towards me as I fell to my knees but Kuran pushes her out of the way and helps me stand." I could've helped her!" Rose yells jealously at Kuran as Kuran turns to her and smirks." Too slow." He states smugly while chewing on another toothpick." E-enough you guys." I stutter as my hands shake." I-I s-said no fighting, Kuran." Rose and Kuran both look at me worriedly but Kuran changes his expression from a serious stare to that bright smile, knowing what I need as Rose looks confused." Hey, don't be scared...you'll do just fine." Rose finally sees that I'm scared and puts on a cheerful smile as she pushes Kuran  aside." Yeah, you'll do great! The people there are really nice...some trainers might be a bit strict but you learn that they are just trying to take care of you." Kuran gives Rose a jealous glare but he turns it into another one of those smiles once I stop shaking and reply." Thanks guys," I smile and wrap my arms around them both." I couldn't have gathered enough courage to walk through this door if you guys weren't here." Rose and Kiran both blush at my sudden hug but I let go and turn around with confidence in my eyes as I turn the knob on the door.
