CLARY

"Morgenstern," Louisa suddenly spoke as I enter the dark and cold dungeon, her voice echoed through the whole place. Sounded bitter yet calm, alluring. Still dangerous and guarded.

Something made me even more curious.

How could she know without looking?

As if she could hear my thought, she said, "it's nothing hard, Clarissa, to sense a Morgenstern's presence."

I stopped in front of her dark cell, rusty steel separating us.

Her caramel hair nearly looked brown in the dim light, it looked neatly comb to my surprise.

I was expecting to see a messed up girl that would probably look lifeless, but I could see none as Louisa turned around to face me. She looked too decent to be in this dungeon, very at ease. Just a little pissed perhaps, but besides that she was all good.

"What is it, Red?" She said as she made her way towards me in a slow pace. Her voice low but threatening. I watched her movement, she was so elegant, so sure. "God, I hate those eyes of yours."

"Then stop looking at my eyes," I backfired. It's hasn't even been five minutes and she already made her comments. This girl is really into insulting people, isn't she?

"No. Maybe you should just leave. That would be a better solution."

I sighed at her words. "Listen, Louisa. I'm here because I want to help you get out of this place.  I want to be civilized with you, get to know as much thing as possible from you because as far as I'm aware, we're not really different."

"Ha, such a joke."

"I'm serious," I say. "Both our lives are not easy, though you must've had things harder than me. But I know that inside, you're still a good person and I'm willing to help you out of this place."

Louisa stared, as if thinking about the offer.

"I got a confession to make then," she says.

Her words brought excitement instantly to me. "And what is it?"

A smug look appeared on Louisa's face instead. A cheeky grin then curved slightly on her lips as she let the words spill. "I slept with your brother,"

I gasped. With horror and shock-

"Twice." She added.

My heart felt like it did a backflip.

And for the first few seconds, I had a hard time figuring whether Louisa was saying the truth or was she just messing with me. The girl is annoying, sarcastic, insanely rude, and have these really unbelievable attitudes. But is she a liar, as well? I'm still trying to figure.

Louisa held a strong, and confident gaze at me -not even once showing discomfort.

But even if Louisa really did do that, why would I care so much? Jonathan's dead anyway, right? It shouldn't matter anymore.

"I am trying to help you, yet here you go again with your attitude," I said in frustration, "are you really trying to get anyone, who tried to be in your side, away? If so, I don't quite see that it's a good idea, actually."
