Minutes felt like hours as I sat here. The place was not that huge, and among all the noises that surrounded me, all I could hear was my own heart beating.

The Silent City's chamber only filled with so little amount of shadowhunters. This was a family case, Robert had chose who could come and who couldn't. Only a few Clave members and himself, Isabelle, Jace, and I. And there was also Maryse. It was one hell of a fight Robert did to make her stay as far as possible from the trial, but one did not simply make Maryse Trueblood do what she didn't want to do.

She was next to Isabelle, their both faces were flushed. Jace was next to me, holding my hand, reassuring affection. I turned my face to him when he called my name softly. "It'll be alright." He said, voice was as calming and sweet as the Jace I remember.

Guilt. But there was no time to think about it much when suddenly the huge door opened at our side. The silent brothers walking inside with a young lady walking between the formation.

Everyone's faces change. Curiosity, flushed, even disgust. Isabelle's face was bright red while Maryse looked like she was about to passed out. Out of all people that related to this mess, Maryse was the only one who hadn't once met the girl. Isabelle went there once, Jace twice, Robert did a few time. But Maryse, this lady in the center of the chamber was her worst nightmare, how could Maryse even imagine to see her come to her life?

The trial began a moment later. One if the brother gave Louisa Highsmith the sword and she held it, wincing silently.

"Louisa Highsmith, you will answer all the questions that asked with all true honesty. Truths without any lies or secrets beneath." The brother started.

But Louisa didn't look nervous, at all honest, I swore I saw a hint of something devious in her eyes.

Robert, as the inquisitor, stepped forward. Standing in front of Louisa. He was going to be the one that asked her questions for tonight. And the question was not 100% his'. The Clave had discussed which question would be asked and which wouldn't.

"What is your full name?" Robert's voice was firm and serious. No gentleness was left in it, as if the girl in front of him was not his own blood.

"My mother named me Louisa Cecily Highsmith." She answer simply.

"But which family name do you supposed to belong to?" He asked again.

"The Lightwoods." She answered smoothly, not holding anything back. If anything, I highly believed that the girl took a pleasure on revealing all these secrets. "I belong to the Lightwood."

There was a long paused after. Unshed tears were in Maryse eyes as she watched the man she once loved so much taking all the answers from a girl of his own blood.

"Who is your mother?"

Her gestures didn't change when the question was asked, as if it didn't effect her. "The name is Annamarie Lightwood."
