Alec

Clary was gone when I opened my eyes.

The spot she was sleeping on was already cold, meaning she had left quite a few long time ago.

I couldn't help but feeling this unsettling feeling inside my chest, as if something wrong was happening. But what could possibly gone wrong?

Decided to shrug the bad thoughts, I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Maybe it'd be best to forget everything for a while.

After I was done, I quickly changed into my normal clothes and went out of the room. I was actually trying to find Clary when I met a worried looking Isabelle on my way.

"Izzy, what's wrong?" I asked her.

"Jace," she told me. "Jace hasn't yet come home. Don't you sense anything wrong? That parabatai rune on your skin was not written for just some cool look on your body, so please tell me you can tell if Jace is alright."

I look at her in confusion. "What are you talking about, Izzy? Parabatai rune is special, and I do can tell that..." I trailed off. Questioning myself if I really could feel that Jace is alright.

"Alec, is Jace alright?" She demanded me.

"Probably. I mean, I don't sense anything wrong with it." I told her, making her ease a little.

"Oh, you don't sense anything wrong?" Spoke a voice behind me, making me turned around only to be greeted by the view of Jace walking toward my direction with his eyes swollen and bloodshot, his expression hard and filled with raging pain. "Of course, you don't. Wouldn't you want me dead instead, my dear parabatai?"

A dark smile playing on his lips, sending both shiver and confusion all over my body.

"Jace, what are you talking about?" Izzy was the one that asked.

"Oh, I don't know. Just stating facts. The usual." He said.

"Jace, Alec has just been woken up yesterday. Where were you and why on earth do you look so awfully messed up?" Izzy demanded, while I only stood there frozen in my place.

Jace stood on his feet, two steps away from me. The dark smile on his lips and the burning fire behind his eyes. "I thought parabatai was supposed to protect one another," he said fully to me, clearly ignoring Izzy. "I thought we were brothers, Alec Ligtwood. Not once had I thought you would turn your back on me, stabbing me, ripping my skin open and take the precious most precious treasure of my world."

"I thought I could trust you, brother." He said before walking passed me.

My parabatai rune felt like it was burning, just how my heart felt like it had been stabbed over and over.

"Alec, I don't get it. What have you done?" Izzy asked me.

Oh, I knew exactly what I had done.

Clary

I stood there inside the institute's sanctuary. Stood there watching beautiful red roses on it's very best look. Blooming with water droplets and warm sunshine softly illuminated against its petals.
