Don't Let Me Go

Chapter 21

Shannon's POV

In just a few hours we will be leaving Georgia. I watch Logan from the doorway as she loads the last few things up into the moving truck. I hear Addy start to fuss so I walk over and pick her up from out of the pack and play.

"Hey baby girl, it's okay. You just wanted some attention huh?" I hear Logan come back in.

"Is that the last of it?" I say as she walks over to her water bottle on the table. She just nods at me as she drinks.

Things have been different between us since Friday night. I asked if she was upset with me but she says no. This is what I worried about the most, her viewing me differently.

I start to snap Addison in her car seat when I see Kasey pull up with Henry and Erin. "I didn't think that you would make it before we left!" I yell to Kasey as she hops out of the car.

"Do you think I would miss this?! You must be crazy!" She runs over to me and gives me a hug. "I'm going to miss you so much." Kasey whispers into my ear. "You take care of yourself and stay in contact. We will be out to visit you as soon as we can!" I hug Kasey tighter as the tears start to spill out of my eyes.

"Thank you Kasey, you have been so amazing to me. I can't begin to explain how much I am going to miss you!" Kasey and I stand there for a while hugging each other before I finally break away. I look over to see Logan standing in the doorway of the drivers seat.

"Hey Logan, take care of my best friend. I love her." Kasey hugs Logan just as tight.

"Don't worry Kase, I'll take care of her. I love her too!" Logan says hugging Kasey back. Hearing her say that makes me smile because after the other night, I was honestly unsure of how Logan felt about me.

I watch Kasey lean In and kiss Addison goodbye. I can feel myself tearing up again. I'm not sure if I am ready to leave her behind. She has been there for me for so long. After we said all of our final goodbyes, I walk over to Logan who is getting ready to climb into the moving truck. "Be safe baby." I kiss her lips.

"I will." Is all she says before quickly kissing my lips and climbing inside the truck. She didn't even kiss Addison this time. I hop into the drivers seat and pull out behind Logan who is leading the way while waving goodbye to my best friend who I already miss.

Addison and I listen to music on our way to North Carolina. We had to make a few stops along the way to make sure Addison was fed and changed which made the trip longer but after what was almost 5 hours we arrived outside of a beautiful two story house with Cam and Julianna waiting in the driveway.

I jump out of the car and stretch before going to backseat to grab Addison.

"Logan!! Shannon!! I'm so glad you guys are finally here and that you made it safely!!" I hug Cam who is holding Julianna and pinch her cheeks. Logan walks over and takes Addison from me.

"I'll take her, you had her pretty much all day." I just smile and nod. I watch Logan and Cam hug like it's been forever when it's only been two weeks. Makes me think about how my best friend is back in Georgia. My family is back in Georgia and now I'm here all alone.

"Come on baby lets go check out the new house." I follow Logan and Cam inside and I stand in complete amazement at the house. It's absolutely beautiful, better than I would have ever imagine it to be. I go bring in the pack and play to set up for Addison to take her nap while we get things in. Julianna ended up accompanying Addison on her nap while the three of us start moving things in.
