Don't Let Me Go

Chapter 24

"Awe Logan, you look so handsome!!" Cam squeal as she fixes my bowtie making sure it was straight. Today was Shannon's birthday. She has been off all day with Kasey and Erin having a girl's day with all kinds of pampering. What she doesn't know is that a limo will come by and pick her and the girls up in about an hour. Kasey and Erin have been given orders to make sure she looks stunning for tonight. "Do you have everything in order? You have the ring? What about the photographer? She know what time to arrive?" I start to laugh.

"Calm down Cam, I think you are more nervous than I am." Cam starts to laugh along with me, she takes a seat in front of the mirror. "What time will Jade be here?" Jade is a friend of Cam's that she met at work. They have really been hitting it off well, She seems like a good girl and she is very accepting of Cam and her situation.

"She should be here any minute, Are you ready to go? Where are we going again?" I look at myself in the mirror one last time. I kept it simple tonight, I have on an ivory colored suit with a bowtie to match. It really works well with my skin complexion. I went to the barbershop today and had my fowhawk trimmed. I left my hair curly up top because I love my natural curls and Shannon loves playing with them.

"Yeah I am ready. Let's head downstairs, the limo should be here for us any minute so that we can pick up the girls. We are going to a restaurant called Fahrenheit where we will be doing rooftop dinning by the fire. I can't wait to see Shannon's reaction." I look at the ring one last time before sticking it back in my coat pocket. "I have to thank your Mom for watching Julianna and Addy for us." Right as we reach the bottom of the stairs, the doorbell rings.

"That must be Jade. Lo, you know my Mom loves those girls. She kept telling everybody she had her grand babies tonight." I smile thinking about Ms Allen, she is awesome. Cam walks over and opens the door. "Hey Jade come on in, you look great." Jade walks in. She has on a short cocktail dress that is almost similar in color as Cam's. Her hair is in long curls. I think Cam said she was Native American or something, I don't remember. Cam says a lot. I walk over and shake her hand.

"Hey Jade. How are you?" Right as we were getting ready to shut the door. I see the limo pull up out front. "Alright guys this is it. Let's go!" We all walk out to the limo together and start the ride to the hotel that Kasey and Erin are staying in. It wasn't but a 20 minute drive but it was long enough for me to start getting nervous. I look at my watch and see it is a quarter after 7 and our reservations are at 8:00. I feel the limo stop and I see that we are outside the hotel. I climb out so that I can greet Shannon when she comes down.

"Here Lo." Cam hands me the roses I bought Shannon as I step out the car. I fix my suit and when I look up, I see the most beautiful girl approaching. I couldn't stop staring at her. Shannon was wearing an Ivory Sheath one shoulder satin dressed that looked amazing on her.

"Hey baby." I hear her sweet voice say. "I can't believe you did all this for me! A limo? And look at you. You look so good." I reach out and grab her hand bringing her to me.

"Look at me? Look at you. I can't even begin to put in words how beautiful you look tonight. I can't stop staring at you. Come on baby, let's go celebrate." I kiss her softly before helping her inside the car. Kasey and Erin walk up both giving me a hug.

"You got this Logan!" Kasey says quietly kissing my cheek before climbing in.

It didn't take us long to arrive at the restaurant. We step out, Shannon just stares at the building in awe.

"What's the name of this place?" I smile and wrap my arm in her as we follow the greeter to our seats.

"It's called Fahrenheit, I hope that you like it." We finally reach our seats on the rooftop and Shannon and I take a moment to stare at the skyline. It was a beautiful night and the city looks stunning. I am so glad to be here with my woman. "Let's go have a seat." We all sit down and start looking over the menu.
