Today would be my first day at work as an actual employee, and that made me happier than anyone can possibly think. I got dressed extra nice, and put my hair in a fancy bun, letting a curl of hair hang down.

Niall was still asleep so I walked into the kitchen and made myself cereal, quickly eating and leaving a note on the counter telling Niall where I would be. I took his car keys and went into the parking lot.

I started driving Niall's car, and it drove extremely smoothly. I turned the radio on and drove off to work.

I walked into my new office, which is ten times larger than my old one near the boys bathroom. I got my coffee and started drawing my sketches, before I got a call on the phone. "Hello?" I asked, lightly tapping my pen on the desk. "Where the hell are you? And where's my car?" Niall boomed through the phone. "Calm down, I'm at work and I took your car; I hope you don't mind." I said as I bit my lip, hoping he wouldn't yell. "Okay well just tell me next time." He said with a sigh. I hung up the phone after saying goodbye and continued my sketch.

My co worker Trent walked into my office with a smile, he is a cool guy. He helped me out a lot when I first started my internship, and frankly he isn't so bad looking. He's around twenty three years old but not really my type, he works in the designs department; basically where my designs come to life. "Hey." I said with a smile, as I shade in the dress I was currently working on. "Hi, I'm having a party tonight, it's kinda like a farewell party since ill be gone for the next month." He explained, taking a seat in one of my chairs. "Really? Why is that?" I asked, stopping what I was doing to pay attention to the conversation. "The company wants me to talk to some people in London, to maybe get them to buy some of our designs to help pay for the new addition they're planning to add to the company." He explained excitedly. "Wow, London. That's amazing. So what time should I come?" I ask, going back to my sketch. "Eight would be nice." He smiled, after saying goodbye he left.

I finally finished some of my sketches and handed them to the design crew, which meant I could finally leave. My first day was amazing and i still can't believe I'll be doing this job for the rest of my life, it boggles my mind.

When I got home I noticed that Niall was on his laptop in the bedroom, going through hotels. "What's that for?" I asked without properly greeting him; which I guess kind of scared him. "Well hello to you too." He joked as I rolled my eyes, then walked over to him on the bed, giving him a small kiss on his soft lips. "And this is nothing, just something I'm planning for later." He quickly said, closing his laptop. A frown formed my face as I looked over at him. "Ugh whatever, anyways Trent invited me to a party tonight. I think we should go since he'll be gone for a while." I explained. "Is Trent that annoying guy who kept flirting with you the last time I came to pick you up?" He asked, as I rolled my eyes. "For the last time he wasn't flirting!" I repeated my self for the hundredth time. "Whatever, i'd much prefer us sitting down and enjoying a good movie than going to his lame ass party." He joked as I playfully punched him. "We're going, and that's final." I said, trying to sound stern as I walked into the closet and changed into something more comfortable.

My phone started vibrating, indicating I had a call. "Hello?" I answered. "It's me Catherine, you need to know what's going on. After you left your dad had a huge fight with your aunt, trying to get her to get you to move in with him. Well I guess she refused to tell you but just so you know your dad is furious with your aunt and thinks it's better for you to be with him to have some family bonding time or some shit. It turns out your dad has been helping your aunt pay her rent so she kinda owes him a lot and he's threatening to take the money back if he doesn't have you." She says, kind of too quickly for me to process everything. "But why does he need me? What does he want from me?" I ask. "...I don't think this is about you anymore Maria. You're dad and aunt are basically having a feud and you're their prize that indicates their win. I've been listening to the phone calls and it turns out your dad ran away from home after he found out your mom had cancer, refusing to come back. I'm really sorry Maria." She explained as the tears made their way down my face.
