Chapter 35- TB

Ricky's POV

Today is the day i'm going to talk to Brelynn about getting back together. She's been so happy here as we just chill around the house and act like a family. I was driving back to the house after picking up Skyler from school, Brelynn was already at the house making dinner when I left. Sky and I got to the house. We walked inside and Brelynn was laying on the couch asleep and Skyler came in, running over to her. She pressed her hand to her head and she looked at me. 

"Daddy she feels hot." She said looking at me and I walked over towards her. Skyler backed up and pressed the back of my hand to her head, she did feel hot. 

"Go get some cold water okay?" I asked looking at her and she nodded, running into the kitchen. I keeled beside her and shook her lightly. "Brelynn." I said, continuing to shake her and she started to cough. She was sweating as I got a better look at her. She started to cough more heavily and she woke up. She coughed into her hand and she looked sick. She has had pains in her chest for a few days and she hasn't really been eating a lot. 

"Here is some water." Skyler said, handing me a glass I smiled at her and kissed her forehead. She smiled at me and looked over at Brelynn, Sky's eyes grew. "Daddy, mommy is bleeding." She said, I looked over and the hand Brelynn coughed into, had some blood on it. 

"Sky go get daddy's phone." I said, looking at her and she ran outside, knowing I left it in the car. I didn't know what to do. Skyler came running into the house with my phone. She handed it to me and I dialed Chris's number. The phone started to ring.

"Hey Ricky what's up?" Chris asked, answering the phone and I stood up, looking at Brelynn. 

"Hey Chris, give me a sec." I said, and I knelt down next to Skyler. "Can you go pack yourself a bag of clothes?" I asked and she nodded, running upstairs. "Hey Chris. I picked Sky up from school and I came back. Brelynn is lying on the couch, sweating and she is really hot. Then she coughed up some blood." I said, pacing in front of the couch where Brelynn was out and chewing on my thumb nails. 

"Okay, take her to the hospital, i'll call Josh and Ryan-Ashley. Ask them about taking Skyler okay?" Chris said and I nodded. 

"Yeah, okay later." I said, hanging up and Skyler came back downstairs with a bag. "Alright Sky, uncle Chris is meeting us at the hospital, let's get in the car." I said, shoving the phone into my pocket and I picked Brelynn up. We walked outside and Skyler, shut the door behind us. Skyler got into the backseat, buckling herself in. I laid Brelynn in the back seat next to Skyler and buckled Brelynn inside. "I need you to make sure mommy stays safe." I said, Sky nodded and she grabbed Brelynn's hand. I jumped into the driver's seat and we started to leave for the hospital. 

-at the hospital-

I was pacing in front of the the chairs, Chris was talking to Skyler and playing with her. The doors opened wide, I turned to look Ryan-Ashley and Josh were standing there. They scanned the room and then their eyes landed on me. Ryan-Ashley walked over to Skyler and Chris, while Josh walked over to me. Josh hugged me tightly and I hugged him back. 

"How is she?" He asked, as we stayed in the hug and I sighed, the hug broke. 

"She is in the room, getting examined." I said, starting to bite my finger nails again and Josh grabbed my hand, pushing it down by my side. 

"She'll be okay." He said and I nodded. "Ryan-Ashley said, she would take Skyler home while Chris and I wait with you. Or I can let you wait with Chris." Josh said and I looked at him, the doors to the other side opened. I turned and looked, a doctor I saw take Brelynn earlier was walking towards us and I looked over at him. 

"Brelynn has Tuberculosis. It's rare for someone especially for her age, has she had any history with drugs in her past?" He asked and I nodded. "What kind?" He asked and I looked down at the ground.
