A deal that I made with Teddy in order for him to remain in the mundane world was that he needed to attend a mundane school. This was great but things returned to normal favor. I was working the operations side of the institute while Jace, Alec, Izzy and Clary would do all the heavy lifting. It got boring just working and then going home. Our home life was extremely interesting though. There was always something new to trying in the kitchen or a new activity to do and it suited us. We were an active family. This Friday afternoon thought was the most boring event of my life. I stayed home today because the babies decided to make me extremely sick and I didn't want to go into the city this morning. Staying around the house did me no good though. By noon I was bored and I didn't have Teddy or Cas to keep me busy.

I cleaned out my closet deciding to do something bad. I slipped into a white tennis skirt with a pink top and wedges. I bothered not with make up and put my hair into a messy bun. I grabbed my wallet and keys and closed up the house. I was in the mood for a smoothie and mischief.

With my organic strawberry kale smoothie in hand, I locked my car and proceeded into the office of Teddy's school.

"How can I help you?" the office assistant asked.

"Hi. I needed to pick up my son Theodore Riley."

"Is everything okay? We usually don't let parents pick up children unless there's a family emergency." She explained.

"Well his dad just got back into town from deployment and I'm gonna surprise him." I lied. Well jake did just get into town but oh well.

"Oh my I didn't know his father was in the service."

"Well he has three dads so it's kind of hard to keep track of all of them." I mused. She nodded understandidly. The bell rang for lunch and I was just gonna grab him.

"Could I just go grab him. I don't want his name to be announced over the PA" I asked.

"Of course." She said as she handed me a slip. He texted me saying he was in the cafeteria.

I mossied around with my smoothie as I tried to find the cafeteria. I decided to follow the sworm of kids. I got some weird looks but brushed them off.

"Hey Kid." I said as I approached him. He was sitting with Luke eating lunch.

"Hey Mom." Teddy greeted as he put down whatever he was eating.

"Hey Vale." Luke said with him mouth full of a burger. I made a face before handing him a napkin to wipe his face.

"Hey guys. How's school?" I asked.

"Boring." They both mumbled. I rolled my eyes.

"I didn't send you to this school to be bored. Your supposed to learn something." I grumbled.

"Well this schools really boring." Teddy replied. Luke nodded in agreement.

"What are you doing here?" Teddy asked.

"I got bored, went to the smoothie shop then decided to get you from school early." I said sipping my smoothie.

"Really? Yes!" Teddy silently cheered.

"Excuse me miss but your not in uniform. Your outfit is also extremely inappropriate. I'll need to write you a detention." A voice said from behind me.

"That's cute but I'm almost 30 and his mother." I joked as I continued to sip my smoothie.

"Mr. G this is Teddy's mom Valentina." Luke introduced.

"I'm sorry ma'am. I thought you were a student." He apologized before leaving abruptly.

"Can I drive your car?" Teddy asked as we walked out of the school.

"No"

"What's the point of you having a Maserati if I can't drive it?" he argued.

"What's the point of giving you my new car?" I argued back.

He shrugged and got into his.

Suddenly a body popped into my car out of no where and I held back a scream of surpise.

"Lucifer you can't do that!" I yelled at the man and I slammed on the breaks.

"Yes yes I know you have warned me before darling. What's the fun if I don't though." He remarked. Teddy pulled up beside us.

"Hey Uncle Luci" he remarked with a wave.

"Teddy my boy how have you been?" he asked as he transported to Teddy's car. I rolled my eyes at the two. He's such a bad influence on the boy.

"Pretty good. What are you doing in town?" he asked his uncle.

"Your father requests both of your presence at his new home." Lucifer said.

"Your doing Jake's bidding now? I find that hard to believe. Don't you have a cop or a demon to be enticing? Your doing far too much good deeds for the devil. Don't get me started on the therapist Luci?" I egged at him. He rolled his eyes.

"This new attitude is much unbecoming of you my dear. I'm not doing Jake's bidding, I'm just passing on the message. I needed to speak to you my love."

Rolling my eyes on the spot I followed the two to Jake's new home. Apparently he lives on the upper east side in a penthouse.

"How becoming." I snorted as we walked to the elevator.

"Yes this place does have less strippers and lacks a pool." Luci commented.

"Your one to talk. Sleeping with your therapist on the weekly, fraternizing that the poor cop you like to string around, running that vile establishment you call a club and that bartender who followed you from the gates of hell."

"Don't hold back mom." Teddy said as we step out of the elevator to the penthouse.

"Where is Jake?" I asked as I took a seat on the kitchen counter and started drinking whatever tea was on the counter.

"Right here. See you like my tea and my messenger."

"You sent the devil to do your bidding." I mused with a look of distaste.

"He needed to speak with you, I just requested you two do it here." Jake said.

"Let's get this over with because I need to take a nap. Where is your room Lucifer?"

"Second to the left" he said as he grabbed a scotch and followed me.

I kicked off my shoes and snuggled into the bed. The room was extremely dark so I opened some shades.

"I like the dark you know." He mused as he sat next to me in the bed.

"What did you need Lucifer? And have you done any of your play things in this bed?" I asked.

"I've been here for a couple of minutes not enough time to get a girl in my room."

"Didn't stop you before." I grumbled.

"I needed to speak to you about your children." He started. My head flipped to look him in his eyes.

"Go on"

"Warlocks are the children of humans and demons. Demons are my children. So technically your warlock is my son and in some cryptic way your hybrid is my grandchild."

"Oh my God."

"Don't use my fathers name Valentina." He warned.

"What do you want Luci?"

"You see warlocks cannot have children. I mean they can but they all end in still born. The only way that these children can live is having a part of unmarked shadowhunter origin. These runes won't resist the demonic energy in the fetus."

"But Tessa Grey lived and went on to have a child with runes."

"You see this situation is very unique. Tessa Grey was the child of a great demon and a human. Magnus is not a full demon or a mundane. You have runes that may resist the demonic energy the fetus carries. Although they might have more shadow hunter in them, it dosen't mean this will come with less of a consequence and difficulty."

"I know the risks Lucifer. Is this all you came here for?"

"I came here for the same reason as Jake actually. I'm here for you and Teddy. I've also assigned your female offspring a sire."

"You've what?" I spuled as I sat up straight.

"It's not as bad as you'd think. Consider it some extra muscle."

"Who is he anyway?"

"Don't worry your sweet head about it. He'll be revealed in due time. At this moment I need to borrow your car."

"You want my car?" I clarified.

"I'll drop you off at home, I just need to borrow this one darling. I know you have that pretty 4x4 sitting in your garage. I must say that Magnus did pay a pretty penny for it." He mused.

"Yes he did. Let's just go. This talk has made me want to take a nap." I growled as I took his blanket with me. Jake and Teddy were no where to be found when I went back into the living room so I assumed they were together.

Lucifer woke me up when we got to my house. I bid him farewell and threatened his mortality if he hurt my car. I strode into my driveway and through the front door where Mag was waiting with Cas.

"Who's that?" he questioned after a quick look out the window.

"Lucifer Morningstar. He's a brother of Jakes."

"So you let him take your car?"

"He's not from around here and he did me a favor."

"Sounds like you sold your soul to the devil." Mag laughed. Gave him a small glare.

"He's actually the devil you know, so he's technically your father." I mused as I fed Cas. Mag stared at me for a second.

"Really? My father?" he said humorously.

"Well you are the product of a greater demon and a human. He is a demon, the original one. He seems to think that he needs to protect these offspring, so he's hired some extra muscle."

"Seems a bit rash don't you think. How did a well respected clave member become brothers with the prince of darkness himself?"

"That's a good question. I don't really know. Lucifer and Jake just came together wrapped in a tea box. The clave knew better than to question Jake's decision for a best friend and I just trusted Jake. After you get over the fact that he is literally the devil he can be quite pleasant. That is if he dose not think that you deserve a punishment."

"Sounds interesting and all too complicated. My mind is very sore. In the wake of valentine coming back, every shadowhunters wants to have their children's memory wiped for their safety. I'm going to be seeing more memory demons in the next month than I have in my entire life."

"I'm sorry Mag. Maybe they just think that this is what is best for their children."

"When did parents want what is best for their children? I thought they were just there to mold them into the greater people they are meant to be?" he questioned with a thoughtful look on his face.

I cupped his left cheek and looked him in the eyes.

"All we can do is love them and hope that they love us back."
