Better With Him

Everyone was busy today so Izzy and I went on a girl's day. We spent the day in minimal clothing with heels as big as your dreams as we strutted the beach scene. Our day was spent at the spa getting massages, drinking fruity drinks by the pool and getting our hair done. I barreled out of my Benz with a fresh set of curls, a crochet bikini top and short shorts with 5 inch heels.

Teddy's car was parked splat in the middle of the slab so I had to park by the gate and walk up the driveway. I opened the doorway with Izzy in tow as we set our things down on the table. Luke was in the kitchen cooking.

"What are you doing here?" I said as I gave him a hug. He kissed my cheek and handed me a plate.

"Hey Mama V and Iz. I made some caprese salad." He said as he gave izzy a kiss too.

"Why?" Izzy asked.

"Because I was bored. Teddy brought a girl over and they're on the couch." He explained. Izzy stopped to look at me.

"Girl?" we asked at the same time. Izzy basically helped me raise the boy and she is like a second mom to him. So we were never prepared for him dating.

"Yes as in female specimen. Much like the two of you just under developed." He said as he handed us the pita for our dish. I scowled at the thought of my little boy being with a girl.

"I did not approve of this." I scowled.

"He dosen't know your home. He thought you were in the city so that's why he parked his car on the slab. Her presence is much hush hush." He explained. I was offended a little bit.

"I'm gonna roast him." Izzy vowed as she got up and adjusted her assets. I stood up too and re adjusted before taking off my cover up and shorts. I was definitely going to intimidate this little girl. I re applied some lipstick before walking into the living room. The two adolescents were sitting too closely for my liking.

"Teddy!" We screeched as we entered living room and the two jumped apart. Teddy stood up with conviction.

"Oh hey!" he said as he scooted away from the girl. She stood up flustered.

"I didn't know you were having a... friend over." I trialed off as I gave him a hug.

"Oh yeah. This is Max." he
introduced. She held out her hand and Izzy pulled her into a hug while I gave her a smirk.

"Is that short for Maxine?" Izzy asked.

"No." she said. I raised my eyebrows.

"So what's going on here? I thought you had rowing practice after school." I asked my kin.

"I thought you were in the city." He trailed off.

"Thought wrong my dear. How old are you?" I asked the girl.

"Fourteen ma'am." She said with a timid voice. I held back a sigh.

"That explains a lot. Your not a Banana Barb are you? I rather not have to deal with obsessive teenage girls. Like go hang out at starbucks and listen to one direction." I laughed. Izzy joined in as Teddy glared at me.

"Max this is my mom and second mom." He introduced. The girl seemed nervous.

"I thought you were his sister." She said. I laughed for a second at the thought before deciding not to shame the little girl.

I smiled at her and looked at teddy.

"Impetro rid eam. Numquam ego te voce magna et dixit puellae ut supra." I spoke in latin. This was our native tongue. (Get rid of her. I never said you were aloud to have girls over.)

"Gloria placet. Reagens est super te." (Mama please. You're over reacting.) He said.

"In hoc convenit cum matre. Et fregit ad regulas. Nolite multum videtur quod non." Izzy butted in. (I agree with your mother on this one. You broke the rules. Don't worry she doesn't seem like much.)

"Isabelle O!" Teddy complained. (Mama Isabelle)

"Nec ventilat. Dic vale puella." I told him. (No butts. Tell the little girl goodbye.)

I smiled at the girl before leaving back into the kitchen with Izzy.

Izzy and I were in our pj's watching some tv show and eating food when there was a knock on the door. There's no way that it could be Alec or Magnus because they went on a date night and Teddy would have just walked it. I slowly made my way to the door and noticed it was just Jake.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Hello to you love bug. I came to drop something off for Teddy." He said as he handed me a pair of jeep keys.

"What are these?" I asked with confusion.

"He wanted my Jeep, so we switched cars." He informed me. I rolled my eyes at the thought of Teddy getting what he wanted again.

"That boy is too spoilt." Izzy said as she came to the door.

"You can say that again." I grumbled. Jake held out a black box for me to take.

"This is for him too. He told me he wanted to try a obstacle course so I signed him up for American Ninja Warrior." Jake said. I laughed at the thought.

"Is he aware that you did that? He's not much of a competitor."

"He's aware that I mentioned the idea. The race is in Georgia in three days. I'm picking him up tomorrow to train down there with some professionals so if you guys want to come down that would be great." He said. I raised an eyebrow.

"Some notice before taking my son out of the state would be appreciated." I complained.

"He's mine too. Goodnight ladies. I'll be back at 10." He said before picking up Teddy's car and driving away.

Izzy stared at me for a second before giving me a mischievous face.

"What?" I asked her.

"Get your keys. We're raiding Lululemon and nike tonight." She said as she ran up the stairs.

I changed into a pair of nike pro shorts with nike shoes and a nike jacket. We were sponsored by fitness tonight. Izzy came out in pants and a cropped sweater and we were out.

"Can I drive?" she asked. I nodded and locked the house before handing her the keys.

"You should call Teddy and tell him to get home by the time we do. We've gotta help him pack." She suggested. I let Teddy know what was up as we barreled into the store.

"Mission: Make Teddy and ourselves look good af for ANW."

We ended up getting more for ourselves then for Teddy. We pared outfits from both places to make sure he looks good and so do I. Izzy and I got really cute shorts and we also got team shirts for him. We paid good money for the Nike store to make customs dry fit shirts and tank tops with Ninja Prodigy on it.

"Let's go and get ready." She said.

The living room was divided in 5 piles. We got everything that Teddy could need and a lot of stuff for us but we also got stuff for Alec and Magnus.

"What was it that you needed me to come home so soon?" Teddy asked as Luke dropped him off.

"Did you forget to tell us something?" Izzy and I asked as we zipped up our jackets and turned around.

"No?" he asked confused. We turned around and unzipped our jackets to show him our shirts with 'Ninja Prodigy' on them.

"So dad came by then." He trailed off.

"Well yeah! Why didn't you tell us?" Izzy yelled at him.

"I forgot to tell you. Did he say what time we're leaving?" he asked as he looked through the stuff we got him.

"Yeah. He said he's picking you up at 10. We'll leave later tomorrow and meet up with you guys for training the next day." I told him.

"Okay sounds good. Thanks Mom and Mama Izzy. I'm gonna sleep and then I'll pack after my run tomorrow." He said as he kissed our cheeks and headed to his room.

"We gotta pack girl." Izzy said as she turned on her phone to the music system and got pumped.

"Let's do this!" I said. We grabbed our matching Nike suitcases and Backpacks and packed for our trip tomorrow.

We ended up collapsing on my bed and setting our alarms for 7 am to run with Teddy.

The next morning our alarms went off but I couldn't get off. Alec and Magnus were cuddled on either side of me. I ran my fingers through their hair and tried not to wake them up. I know they must have come in late. I placed little kisses on their foreheads and their knees before sneaking out and heading downstairs.

"What's going on?" I asked as I saw a whole bunch of camera guys and Jake in the living room.

"Their filming the intro for Teddy's run." Izzy said. I raised an eyebrow and walked toward Jake.
"What's a camera crew doing in my house? And what is that in the back yard? Where is Cas' playground? What is that in the pool?" I asked all at once. Izzy handed me a cup of tea.

"Their filming the intro for Teddy's run. I had them convinced that we built a gym for Teddy at the home to support his love for Ninja Warrior. Their here to do his backstory and then we're on the flight out. Go upstairs and change and bring down your hubbies because this is supposed to be a family affair." Teddy told me as he took my tea. I growled at him before Izzy pushed me up the stairs and handed me a bag.

"Change. I'll get the guys ready. Don't skim on the make up and you have to look like working out is your life." She said as she pushed me into the bathroom.

"Wonderful." I mumbled. I threw on the nike bubble gum pink sports bra with the white nike shorts and matching pink shoes. I threw my hair into a ponytail and put on some make up. My contour was so on fleek. Izzy came in while I was doing my hair and contoured my legs.

"You're a true sister." I told her when she finished my long legged contour. We took a pic before heading downstairs. Alec and Magnus were sitting on the grass looking less than pleased with being up. Jake had brought them hangover smoothies and food so they were contently stuffing their faces on the lawn chairs.

"You guys are so cute." I said as I took a seat on Alec's lap and laid my legs on Magnus'.

"Want some?" Alec asked with his mouth full. I scrunched my eyebrows and manually made his jaw chew his food.

"Bad skills. Your gonna teach that to our babies." I told him as I took a piece of his food.

"Speaking of. How are the little people?" Magnus asked.

"Kicking. Sometimes I think I'm not wearing enough clothing though."

"I know. Maybe some more clothes would be okay?" Alec asked.

"Boo you. She's fine. She's one hell of a sexy mama." Magnus said as he kissed up the side of my face. I squealed and squirmed as he laughed at my reaction.

"Mrs. Lightwood we're ready for your segment." A camera guy said. I went to get up but Alec stopped me.

"What's going on?" I asked him as I tried to get up again.

"Your squirming has created a slight problem." He said as he pointed to his lap.

"Valentina!" Jake yelled. I grabbed a towel to the left of me and placed it on Alec's lap in my place.

"Your welcome." I told him with a wink as I kissed Magnus.

I strutted over to Jake and stood with him.

"Okay we just need you to talk about his start with obstacles and exercise and how he is the prodigy your ex husband claims he is."

"Perfect." I said.

"And Action."

"I first signed Teddy up for gymnastics when he was 3 years old. He was drawn to the aerodynamics of the sports and the he was too hyper active to be doing anything else. In his life leading up to this point, he's done Gymnastics, Track, Climbing, Boxing and Rowing so he's an all around athlete. " I said for my segment.

We did a bunch of shots of me coaching teddy and Izzy and I working on the obstacle course with him. Next were Magnus and Alec's turns to be interviewed.

"Just give a quick over view of why you built this." The camera man said. They nodded and proceeded.

"Conquering these physical obstacles were something that bonded us a family. This was a way to communicate better with him."
