PLEASE READ IMPORTANT: Hey guys, SO I got 2 little author notes. First one is my story will only have some parts that are the same as the show, other parts are made up by me. Second is I'm not really getting much feedback on this story only 1 person comments or votes IF I'm lucky so I don't know if it's any good or not, should I keep going? Or should I stop it? Ava's P.O.V

After me and Daryl had finished our smoke's we headed back inside I told Daryl that I was going to go see Hershel while he went over to talk to Rick, he was going to tell me what happened to Merle later on tonight. I found Hershel upstairs checking on Carl “sorry to interrupt you but can I talk to you Hershel when your finished in here please?” he turned to look at me and nodded “sure I'm almost done here” he replied so I waited patiently out by the bedroom door, after a couple of minutes he came out “Ava, what can I do for you? Is your boy alright?” he asked me “oh yes Hunters fine, thank you, it's just….” I let a sigh escape my lips then continued “If I decide to sleep outside with my husband in his tent would it be alright if Hunter stayed in the bedroom you let us borrow earlier?” he just looked at me for a couple of seconds before he answered “yes of course, and I will make sure me or Maggie check on him” “thank you Hershel” I said with a smile then walked off to the bedroom where Hunter was laying down in the single bed with the covers tucked under his chin he wasn't quite asleep though “mom where is uncle Merle?” he asked me “I don't know son, your dad said he was going to tell us later when he's free OK?” I said to him, I saw a bit of worry in his beautiful blue orbs which were similar to his father's “it's OK Hunter, you and I both know your uncle Merle is tough right” I said “yea your right mom, your always right” he smiled at me in which I returned the same smile back to him “oh really?” “yeah” he said then continued “you were right about dad being alive, and that he would find us, and he did” I was about to say something else before we heard the bedroom door open I turned to see who it was and saw Daryl coming in his face was emotionless which kinda worried me on what he was gonna say to us, he came over and sat beside me on the bed “hey buddy” “hey dad” Daryl gave me a side glance then reached out to grab my hand and looked back down at our son “so your mom said you wanted to know where your uncle Merle is?” he asked him which made my ears perk up “yes dad me and mom both do, right mom?” he said and looked at me when he said the last part I squeezed Daryl’s hand gently before saying a simple “yes” and we both looked to Daryl, he took a deep breath then said “I was with your uncle Merle, we were trying to find you and your mom, but couldn’t find you instead we found a group of people” Hunter cut him off “the people who are down stairs?  Carl and his mom?” “yes Hunter his dad is down there as well, anyway we came across them, and they let us stay at there camp a couple of days after we joined them some of the group went into Atlanta to see if they could get food, clothes or water but they came across quite a lot of walker's” I held my breath thinking ‘please don't say he's dead...no he can't be Daryl is strong but he would be showing more emotion if he was I'm sure of it' and Hunter cut him off again he must have been reading my thoughts as he asked in a sad tone “is my uncle Merle in heaven dad?” his blue eyes going brighter cause of the tears he was trying to hold back “no son he's not” both me and Hunter sighed with relief “thank God" I said “then where is he dad?” Daryl sighed “I don't know son but I will find him…..But” Daryl trailed off “but what?” me and Hunter asked at the same time which made all three of us smile “there is a nice woman downstairs called Carol and she has a daughter called Sophia she's 11 and she got chased into the forest last night by 2 walker's and I promises her that I would go search for her” “you will find her dad, your good at finding thing's besides you found me and mom, right mom?” Hunter said while looking at me “yes Hunter your absolutely right, your dad will find her, and your uncle Merle” “yeah, but you going to look for the little girl first right dad? Sophia?” “yes son I am, now I want you to get some rest OK? And me and your mum will see you in the morning” “you and mom not gonna sleep in here? Where are yous going to sleep?” he asked worried I smiled slightly before answering him “your be safer inside Herschel's house OK? Me and your dad are gonna be sleeping outside in your dad's tent with the other's, that way we can also keep a watch out and make sure everyone is safe” Hunter looked sad for a moment but just looked up at us and gave us a kiss each on the check “OK dad, mom g'night I love your to the moon and back” me and Daryl kisses him back and said “love you too” and a quick hug before going downstairs and outside to put our tent up everyone else already had there's up, but we didn't take long after our tent was up I told Daryl to wait till morning to go look for Carol's daughter he nodded then went into our tent “I will be in there soon OK?” I told him as I went to look for Carol and found her going into the RV “Carol” I called out to her which made her turn around to see me “hi Ava you alright?” I shook my head at her “me? Are YOU alright? Daryl told me bout your daughter Sophia, I want you to know that Daryl is the best person you could want in a time like this to look for your little girl, he won't give up till he finds her and brings her back to you safely” I said and I hugged her as she sobbed into my shoulder.

-After some dinner was made and everyone has eaten-

Me and Daryl were sitting around the little fire outside with the others after i had put Hunter to bed and gave him another 2 puffs on the inhaler and askes Maggie to keep an eye on him and just check him every so often, which she agreed to. I had gotten to know Daryl’s group better since they got here and I liked everyone except Shane he freaked me out if I was honest and I'm sure Daryl knew I felt that way bout him, I decided I was going to have one more smoke before heading off to bed so I grabbed one and put it between my lips, lit it and took a nice long drag before giving the packet over to Daryl, he grabbed one and copied my action's after our smokes I said that we were gonna call it a night and that we will see them in the morning everyone but Shane bid us goodnight and I did the same. Once in our tent I immediately cuddled up against Daryl and his arms snaked around my small waist “I love you dare” I said then kissed him on his lips “I love you too” he lightly moaned out making me chuckle “get to sleep you, your gonna need it” “yea yea” he replied while hugging me a bit tighter.

- Early next morning -

I awoke to a slight shuffle coming from beside me which made me jump up straight and almost grabbing my knife "whoa hun it's just me" I heard Daryl whisper while bringing me to him so I was sitting in his lap his arms around my waist and mine went up to his neck and I pulled him down towards me slightly "my God, sorry hun I guess.....even though you're here with me and I we fell asleep together I thought you were a threat" "it's OK hun, I understand, I was trying to be quiet so I didn't wake ya" "why?" I cut him off and now notice that it must be very early morning as it's still quite dark outside "I'm going to look for Sophia" I felt stupid then as I remembered last night when he told me and Hunter that he was going to go search for Carol's daughter "fuck I forgot, of course hun but please be careful OK promise me?" He just gave me a smirk then moved his face closer to mine till our lips met "I will hun don't worry bout me" he said after his lips left mine I gave him a glare when he said that "don't worry!" I half yelled that took him by surprise "how the fuck can I NOT Daryl me and Hunter just got you back" I was starting to get all worked up and upset now "hey, hey hun" I still didn't look at him and kept my eyes downcast "Ava, hun I will be fine OK I promise, besides I won't leave you or our son not again" he said as he lightly tilted my chin up with one of his fingers and looked into my eyes I took a deep breath to get rid of the sob that so desperately wanted to escape "you better go then hun so the sooner you get out there and find Sophia the sooner you can come back to us" I told him as I unwrapped my arms from his neck. He nodded let me go grabbed his crossbow and put his knife into it's sheath "tell Hunter I will be back later on to keep my promise to him as well" he told me then left the tent 'promise?' I thought but just shrugged it off and laid back down on our makeshift bed and slowly drifting off but not before hearing what sounded like horse hooves walking by 'better be safe' was my last thought before I slipped into a dreamless sleep.
