Several months have passed since in which the remaining citizens of Woodbury have joined the survivor group at the prison. Rick having renounced leadership of the group, has taken to farming to set an example to his son Carl. While he is walking outside in his garden, he notices several walkers have accumulated outside the prison. Carl approaches him and notices that one of the pigs his father takes care of, "Violet", appears ill. Rick tells Carl to stop naming the pigs since they are food, and admits he does not know why the pig is ill.

Daryl has increased in popularity among the residents for his role as the group's hunter; which makes Ava and Hunter proud, but there is one woman that Ava was not pleased to see paying extra attention to Daryl, she was tall, skinny, light skinned, with big plump lips and light green eyes, her name was if Ava remembered correctly was Jenifer. Carl's friend, Patrick also thanks Daryl for supplying the meat through his hunting.
Carol speaks privately with Daryl about the walkers, noting they are not spreading themselves along the fence line as before.

Elsewhere, Glenn tells his wife Maggie that she should not accompany him on the supply run scheduled for later that day. Carl criticizes a group of the prison's children, Lizzie and her sister Mika among them, for naming one of the walkers at the fence.
While Carl is at the fence, Hunter is sitting down at a table in the courtyard making bolts for his crossbow when a young tall, brown eyed and brown haired girl walks up and sat beside him "hi Hunter, need help" hunter just let out a grunt much like his dad does while looking at his friend "what's wrong crystal?" Hunter questioned he wasn't sure how to react to this girl, he thought she was beautiful, tough, funny even though she can be funny, not to mention she wasn't fully useless in protecting herself "uh do you think um your mum would help me practice with my knife and I duno maybe find me another weapon?" Hunter rose a eyebrow at her "yah of course she will, have ya asked her?" Crystal got shy again "no"

While several survivors kill the accumulated walkers at the fence, Tyreese speaks with Karen and confides his discomfort with killing walkers along the gate, as it means looking into their faces.
Michonne returns to the prison after unsuccessfully hunting for the governor and shares her intention to travel to Macon to continue her search. She volunteers to check the hunting traps for animals, but Rick decides to go himself. As he leaves, Hershel tells Rick that their council - himself, Glenn, Carol, Daryl, and Tyreese's sister Sasha - prefers that Rick carry a gun when he goes outside the gates, for protection.
Meanwhile Carol secretly uses a storytime session with the prison's children to teach them about the use of weaponry. Patrick, feeling ill, leaves early.

Before leaving on the supply run, Zach says goodbye with an attempted kiss to Hershel's younger daughter Beth who was his girlfriend. "Like a damn romance novel" Daryl mutters.
Bob a former army medic and a new addition to the group, volunteers to go along to earn his keep; after some hesitation, Sasha allows him to come.
Before they leave Ava goes up to Daryl to say goodbye and for him to stay safe, then gives him a passionate kiss when she seen Jenifer watching them from a distance, Daryl slightly smirked into the kiss before pulling away "whoa, what's that for hun?" He asks his wife with a knowing look, he had also noticed that Jenifer was hanging around him an awful lot which he wasn't comfortable with and by the action's Ava was doing and showing, neither was she. "I don't like her" Ava told Daryl while slightly looking in Jennifer's direction "don't worry Av, ya the only woman I want and need, hell ya the only woman I look at" Daryl says reassuring his wife, she smiled at him "better be Dare, tell ya what I will wear ya favorite nightie tonight for ya" she whispered to him with a sassy smile crossing her lips, which just made Daryl groan "cya when ya get back, love ya" was Ava's last words to her husband before she turned around, gave a look towards Jenifer before going to see what Hunter wanted to talk to her about.
