Chapter 24

Rick and Carl observe the dark skinned woman who still remains at the prison fence with infant formula and other supplies in a red shopping basket that where obviously collected by Glenn and Maggie, the walker guts she is covered in keeping her undetected by the walkers that roam outside the prison.

As Rick and Carl debate, they notice the walkers starting to turn towards the woman, she stumbles as she tries to defend herself by slashing her katana, so she has a injury on her leg, Rick and Carl quickly kill off the walkers and bring her inside, once they get inside they lock her in a cell near their cell block and take away her katana.

The dark skinned woman refuses to talk when they start to ask her questions about where and how she got the red shopping basket full of formula and other stuff for the newborn and where Maggie and Glenn are.

They know she is aware there is a newborn at the prison cause of the stuff she brought, and both Rick and Daryl start to threaten her.

Ava's P. O. V

"Mom!" I heard my son Hunter yell as he came running into mine and Daryl's cell with a big smile he wraps his arms around me in a big hug "hey Hunt" I chuckle out "I thought you were dead, me and dad both thought we would never see you again and Lori had her baby bu" I cut him off when I heard him say Lori had her baby "really? Where is she? What did she have? What's his or her name?" I excitedly ask him but noticed the sad look on his face "Hunt?......Hunter?" He then looked up at me "mom, Lori she....she didn't make it" I gasped and Hunter continued "when the walkers got inside the fence and everyone got spilt up, Lori Carl and Maggie went off together and Maggie had to cut the her baby out and she was gonna turn and Carl had to shot her" "oh...my...god, where" I gulped back my sobs "where's Carl and Rick now? How's the baby?" I say while giving my son a side hug while my other hand grabbed his "Beth has the baby it's a girl, Carl is very quiet not saying much I mean mom I don't know how to comfort my friend or what to say to him, Rick is well he's distant, think Beth and little ass kicker is in Carol's cell" "you just have to be there for Carl what he did was brave and he will be hurting badly, and Rick I guess he's dealing with Lori's death in his own way, let's go to Carol's cell I wanna see this little baby girl, and little ass kicker? Who gave her that name?" Hunter smiled at me "dad gave her the name 'little ass kicker' " I chuckled as we stood up "trust your dad to come up with that name" and shook my head as we headed off to Carol's cell.

Once we got there I saw Beth holding a little bundle in her arms and Carol looking at it "hi girl's" I say as I walk in "I'm gonna go see Carl mom, oh and I reckon you should see dad and Rick later" "ok" I nodded at him as he walked away I came up and gave Beth a little hug since she was holding the baby "you want to hold her Ava?" She asked me "oh yes please" I smile as I grab little ass kicker and sit down by Carol "she's beautiful" I say as I give the baby girl my finger to hold "she sure is" Carol says also looking at the baby girl in my arms "are you ok Carol?" "Yeah I'm good, you?" "Yah I'm good" after a while of me sitting with Carol and Beth I stand up and gently give Beth little ass kicker "I'm gonna go see Daryl and Rick, you know where they are?" Before Beth could answer I head Hunter "mom! Come quick" "see ya later" I say to the girls before taking off out the cell and towards Hunter "what? What is it?" "Carl said dad and Rick are interrogating some woman in another cell but she won't say anything and it might get outta hand" "right where?" "This way mom" Hunter said and I followed him to a cell where I see a dark skinned woman tied up with Rick and Daryl yelling at her "guys!" I shout at them as I walk into the cell making the two men turn to look at me "ava?" They both question me I get that Rick did but Daryl knew I was alright, must be the shock of me down here and not resting like he wanted me to "ello, I'm Ava" I say to the woman while I just walked passed the men, she didn't say anything just looked at me emotionlessly before I could say anything else to her Rick spoke up again "where is our people!" 'Wha?' I think to myself, The women didn't say a thing making Rick very angry and he dug his finger into her thigh where I seen what looked like a bullet wound "don't touch me!" The woman shouted at Rick making Daryl aim his crossbow at her head "guys! For fuck sakes she won't tell ya nuffin if you treat her like this!" I shout at the both of them "Maggie and Glenn are missing and SHE knows where they are!" Yells Rick I turned to the woman now "please tell us where our friends are" I plead her she looked back at me taking her eyes off Rick "I over heard them talk about getting back to a prison with the stuff they had in the basket so I came here, they we're taken to a place called Woodbury got about 75 maybe 80 survivor's" she tells me "one more thing what's ya name?" "Michonne"

After hearing what she said Rick determines that we need to rescue Glenn and Maggie, and Michonne offers that she can help get them into the town. Rick asks for volunteers, and while many offer, Rick decides to limit the group to himself, Daryl, Michonne, and Oscar.

As they arm themselves from the prison's weapon supply, and prepare to leave, Rick thanks Daryl for taking charge of the group while he struggled with the loss of Lori, which made Ava come up to Rick and gave him a big friendly hug.

Ava's P. O. V

The men were geared up ready to go with Michonne to this town called Woodbury to rescue Maggie and Glenn and I took Daryl by the hand "give us a minute?" I ask Rick he just gave me a nod if his head so me and Daryl walked up to our cell "Dare, be careful ok" he just smirked at me "I will hun" he says while he wraps his arms around my thin waist and giving me a little peck in the lips I giggled childishly "dat it?" I question as I slam my lips against his worming my tongue into his mouth and moaning lightly as his hands grab at my ass after a few minutes I pull back "better go say buy to your son, and come back to us Dare" "K, and don't ya worry none I will come back" he says then we both leave our cell to find Hunter who was in his cell with Carl, when he saw us he stood from the bed and put a comic book down "who's going where?" He asked "me, I'm going with Rick and Michonne to get Maggie and Glenn back shouldn't be long" Daryl said to him Hunter sighed but nodded towards his dad "k, be safe dad, and come back" Daryl just nodded back 'god those two are so alike' I think with a smile cross my lips.

I kiss Daryl once more and wish them luck and to bring Maggie and Glenn back safely before the four of them walk out the prison gates and towards this place called Woodbury 'be safe' I think before turning around and heading back inside the prison to rest up some more.
