A Daryl Dixon love story in which his wife Ava and son Hunter are separated from Daryl before the virus brakes out and are trying to get back to him at any cost and vice versa.

Rick is traumatized after the death of his wife Lori during childbirth, and abandons his responsibility as both a parent to his new daughter and to the other members of the group, instead releasing his anger on walkers.
So Daryl then steps up as an interim leader, and offers to go with Maggie to locate infant formula and other supplies for the newborn girl.
Glenn Axel and Oscar dig graves for their fallen, Lori, and T-Dog Glenn remains resentful towards the prisoners Axel and Oscar due to losing his friends as a result of their fellow prisoner Andrew's sabotage.
Glenn then goes to look for Rick in the prison tunnels, who is still mindlessly killing walkers, Glenn tries to convince Rick to return with him, but Rick gets angry and throws him against the wall and yells at him to leave him alone.
Daryl and Maggie successfully recover supplies from an abandoned daycare center, and they see to tending to the newborn girl, Daryl asks Carl what he was gonna name his sister, as Daryl takes the newborn girl in his arm's slightly swaying her and Carl considers the names of those that they have already lost, once he said Ava's name Daryl and Hunter's faces drop in sadness slightly before Daryl said "Little Ass Kicker. Right? That's a good name, right?" Hunter standing next to him smiled while he gave his dad the bottle of warm milk Beth gave him, Daryl then placed the bottle tit to the newborns mouth which she took happily "hmm you like that sweetheart" Daryl cooed.

Daryl and Hunter later visit Ava's grave, placing a couple of little purple flowers they had found on her cross

Daryl puts his hand on his son's shoulder giving it a light squeeze as they look down at the grave, "I'm gonna miss ya mom" Hunter chocked out as his tears streamed down his cheeks, making Daryl hold his tears back though his eyes were watering, then at the same time they both quietly say "I love you" before going back towards the prison.
