Chapter 15

Ava's P. O. V

We had been driving for a while now and Hunter was starting to get restless he was so worried about his dad, mind you so was I, "where are we going Rick?" I ask him to which he looks in the review mirror to take a quick glance at me "I say the highway" I gave him a confused look "it's the one not to far from the farm" he continues "oh the one where Glenn found me?" I question then immediately feel stupid he wasn't there when Glenn picked me up it was T-Dog "the same one Glenn and T-Dog found you on?" He questioned me I nodded my head "yah, I hope everyone made it out ok, you're sure they will be waiting for us on the highway?" I ask, which he didn't reply, that only worried me more and looked down at Hunter who had looked up at me, he had worry written all over his face and in his eye's "it will be ok Hunt" I tell him as I wrap one of my arms around him "hope your right, mom" I didn't say anything back cause in my mind I was hoping I was right as well.

After a while we had stopped the car and got out "no one's here dad" Carl says to Rick "they will come give them time" he replied I could tell that Carl was worried about Lori, so we went and stood in front of the car I had told Hunter to wait in the car but his stubbornness shone through and he ended up sitting on the front of the car with Carl both with worried looks. After about 5 minutes we heard a rumble of a truck making all of us snapping our heads around to see who was coming the blue truck pulled up behind us and T-Dog, Lori and Beth got out making Hershel, Rick and Carl smile wide Hershel quickly walked up to Beth and gave her a big hug same with Carl when he ran towards his mother wrapping his arms around her "where are the others?" T-Dog asked "we don't know you guys are the first to arrive, did you see" I was then cut off by Hunter "my dad?" He finished they all looked kinda sad which gave me and Hunter our answer they hadn't seen him after a another 5-10 minutes we heard growling and saw a walker coming towards us "we should go" Rick says which made me snap my head towards him "no" I growled at him took out my knife and stomped up towards the ugly male walker stabbing it in the head right between it's eye's I did it a few more times just to get some of my anger out I didn't care I had killed it with the first blow, I just kept going til it's head was just mush, I then stood up wiped my knife on it's shirt then made my way back to the other's who just looked at me "what?" I slightly snapped at them "mom.." Hunter began but stopped when we heard another car driving towards us turning my head I saw it was light green it pulled over and Glenn and Maggie jumped out a small smile found it's way to my lips when I saw Maggie, my friend had made it I walked up to her before Hershel and Beth and gave her a hug "I'm glad your alright Mags" I say as I unwrapped my arms from around her even Hunter came up to her and wrapped his arms around her middle, "I'm also happy you made it Maggie" he whispered out Maggie smiled at him ruffed up his hair a little and replied "I'm glad your safe to Hunter, your mum was worries bout you" she then made her way to her dad and little sister and they all hugged "where's Patricia?" Hershel asked Beth opened her mouth but I stopped paying attention when I heard the sound of a motorcycle, but not just any motorcycle Daryl's motorcycle "DAD!" Hunter yelled out as we saw him riding up to us and pulling over to the side I smiled so big I'm sure my cheeks were gonna hurt later on, before Daryl could fully get off the bike me and Hunter came running at him "Dare!" I sobbed out as me and Hunter slammed into him, he hugged us back immediately "you're alright" me and him say at the same time making me smile I slightly pulled back so Hunter could hug his dad properly, Daryl bent down to scooped him up in his arms the sight warming up my heart "how did you know to come here?" I asked him "well when I saw this car driving all over the road I figured he had to be Asian" Daryl said while looking over at Glenn making the group smile and Glenn just laughed "ha, good one" was his response that made me giggle.

It was now dark and we had stopped on the side of the road slightly in towards the woods so we couldn't be seen from the road if walker's showed up, we were all sitting around a small fire, Hunter had not left Daryl's side so he was sitting between us clinging to Daryl's arm trying his beat to stay awake.  "Where's Shane?" I heard Lori ask 'what the fuck, who cares bout ya fuck buddy he was fucking crazy be glad your husband and son are alive' I bitterly thought while slightly glaring at her Rick let out a aggravated huff and began to tell us what this Dr Jenner had told him before they left the CDC "we're all infected, whatever it is we've all got it" this shocked me "what!" I heard Glenn shout at him "and you didn't think to tell us this?" "I thought it would be better if you didn't know" was Ricks reply "you should have told us, we had the right to know! I told you guys about the walkers in the barn caus.." Glenn then got cut off by Rick angrily "I killed my best friend for you people!" 'Wha' I thought 'he killed Shane?' I continued my thought I didn't really listen to what else he was saying as Hunter started getting upset with all the yelling so I grabbed his hand and brought him up and towards our tent but not before looking back at Daryl last thing I did hear was Rick yell "this isn't a democracy anymore!"

All I knew is that whatever Daryl wanted to do me and Hunter were gonna be with him. I then shut the tent flap and went to lay be Hunter "go to sleep Hunt, I'm right here" and kissed his forehead "love you mom" "love you to baby"

After a few minutes I slowly got up and walked out the tent to see only a few people still up, Daryl sat in the same spot when I had left but Carol had moved closer to him making me slightly glare at her, she had said something to Daryl when I heard him say "a man with honour" he then stood up, saw me standing there he gave me a look I couldn't quite place as he walked up to me, "come on, let's get some sleep before I gotta take watch" he said as he wrapped his arm around me.
