Skye’s POV:

I woke up early Saturday morning. The first thing I did was (surprise, surprise) write more of my latest song. When inspiration hits, got to write it down.

The doorbell rang, and I frowned. Who the hell was up this early? (Besides me, obviously.)

I threw on a jacket over my tank top before I headed downstairs. I opened the door and blinked. On my front steps were 3 guys, each wearing some kind of hat and shades. But I could still recognize them anywhere.

"What the hell are you guys doing here?" I said before I could think.

"Nice to meet you too," Kevin said, crossing his arms over his blue shirt.

"Hey, Skye," Mike said sheepishly, tugging at the collar of his leather jacket. "Sorry if this is early, but this way no one would follow us."

"How d'you know where I live?" I asked, still staring at them.

"There’s something called the phone book," Shane muttered. He stared at me from behind his shades, his hands in the pockets of his hoodie.

I shot him a dark look, and then sighed, crossing my arms over my chest when I noticed Kevin looking that way. "What do you guys want? I already said no."

"Oh, come on," whined Kevin. "Not gonna invite us in? And we went through all that trouble of looking your address up on Google Maps..."

I raised an eyebrow. "That's exactly it, stalkers. Plus, I'm not gonna let strange teenage guys in the house."

Right on cue, my dad yelled lazily from upstairs: "Who is it, Skye?"

"It's fine,” I yelled back. "Just, um, delivery guys! Go back to sleep!" I turned back to find the boys snickering.

"Delivery guys?" Kevin smirked.

"Be glad it isn’t the mailman," I snapped. "They get attacked by dogs."

"So, we were wondering," said Mike. "If you could come out and show us... the best breakfast in town?"

I frowned at him. "I don’t have much choice do I? Your ride's gone."

I shut the door in their faces and ran upstairs to change. I grabbed the first pair of jeans I could find and tossed on a black t-shirt. I brushed my hair quickly, leaving it as is, colourful streaks shooting through the black. I scribbled a note for my father, and then headed out the door.

"Let's go," I said to the boys.

"Keep your disguises on," I said as I pulled open the door. "There usually aren’t a lot of people this early but you never know."

We got seated by the window, and Shane slid into the booth next to me. Mike and Kevin were across. The hostess gave us our menus and left without recognizing her guests, thank God.

"So. Denny's huh?" said Shane, pulling off his hood.

"Yup," I said, cheerful at the thought of food. "I'd take you to IHOP but personally, I like it better here."

"Man, it's been so long since I've ate at somewhere normal like this," moaned Kevin. "Smells so good..."

The waitress came over, and of course, tried to flirt with the guys while glaring at me (how do they do that?).She didn’t seem to recognize them though, just saw that they were hot, and they were guys. Mike was polite, if not distant, but Shane ignored her altogether. Only Kevin really teased back. Of course.
