Skye’s POV:
We got back to my house pretty late, because Kevin wanted to go on every ride twice. He seemed to have gotten over his nausea after my little freak fest in the haunted house. Ugh.
They lounged on the couch, stuffing their faces with M&Ms. Finally, I sighed, facing them with my arms crossed. "Aren't you guys gonna leave anytime soon?"
"No," Kevin drawled. "I like your house. Can I move in?"
I gave him a death glare. "Ya think?"
"Where're your parents?" Mike asked curiously. "It's late and they're not back yet."
"They're... out," I said lamely.
"They left you the house alone, didn't they," Shane said. It wasn't a question.
Reluctantly, I nodded. "It doesn't matter though, it's not the first time I've had the house to myself." I had absolutely no idea why the heck I was telling them that.
"We're not leaving you alone," decided Kevin. "Who knows what dangers are out in the middle of the night?"
"The only dangerous thing in my house right now would be you guys," I said flatly. "You'll probably eat all my food before the morning."
Kevin grinned. "Ouch, I'm no piggy."
"You eat enough for a bear, let alone a piggy," muttered Shane.
"We'll just keep you company for the weekend," Mike suggested quickly before war could break out. "Like a sleepover between friends."
I'd never had a sleepover, but they didn't need to know that. "But technically, you're not my friends."
"Well, technically, you're hanging out with us, aren't you?" Mike pointed out. He stood up. "I need to use the washroom..." I pointed him to the one on the first floor.
"Come on," Kevin whined. "Don't you like our company? Let us sleep over, come on..."
"I'm not going to let 3 strange guys that are stalking me all over the place sleepover at my house." Even if they were hot. And talented.NO. What was I thinking?
"We're gonna bother you all weekend anyway," Shane told me, persuasive without trying to. "You're just delaying the inevitable."I scowled at him. He shrugged, his dark eyes amused.
"I barely know you guys!" I protested.
"Oh come on. We've been through so much already." Kevin smirked.
"You're guys, there are three of you, one of me," I argued persistently.
"We're not rapists, so don't worry," said Shane lazily. "Except maybe Kevin. But don't worry, we're not going to let him do anything."
"Hey!" The blond pouted. Then Kevin said, "Besides, Skye, you can handle us. You probably can kick all our asses in less than 5 minutes without messing up your wicked awesome hair. C'mon, it's late... pwease?" He made puppy dog eyes.
I growled. "Not fair. You know that's my weakness!"
Shane chuckled. "Did you just growl at him?"
Mike came back. "She said yes yet?"
"No," I said the same time they said, "Yes."
"Whatever," Mike laughed at the look on my face. "I've already called Nick to get him to bring our stuff. He'll be here in about 10 minutes."
"WHAT?!" My jaws dropped. He just---- went ahead and---- UGH. "Excuse me," I said politely. Picking up a pillow, I screamed into it.
The guys laughed. "It ain't that bad," Mike said.
I threw him a look. "Like you'd know."

Stepping out of the bathtub, I pulled on my clothes. I found some makeshift mattresses and extra blankets so that the guys could sleep. I made them sleep in the guest room because I was not that big of a bitch to let them sleep on the living room couches.
After I dried my hair, I looked at myself in the mirror. A sad silent girl stared back at me, her grey-blue eyes tired and blank. I blinked, and that image disappeared, replaced by a girl that most people saw: a strong, aloof girl who knew exactly who she was, and didn’t give a damn what people thought about her. Unfortunately, that's not really who I was.
Spacing out, I wondered again how my parents couldn't seem to see me, see that I was not that little girl who's always smiling anymore. How was it that they kept leaving without another thought of me? Now I was stuck with 3 guys sleeping in my house. Granted, they were much better company than my parents ever were, but still. It's just sad.
Without really realizing what I was doing, I had found the blade in a drawer, and lifted my shirt slightly. I stared into the mirror, still spaced out. I moved slowly, not feeling anything, not really, I hadn't felt anything real in a long time. I inhaled sharply, pressing against my stomach.
There was a knock on the bathroom door, making me jump, dropping the blade and knocking some things over. "Ow!" I yelped, when something landed on my foot. It wasn't sharp, though, so it didn't hurt me.
"Skye? You okay?" I recognized Shane's voice on the other side of the door. "Can I come in?"
Shit.
