Skye’s POV:

It was Thursday after school.

I hated Thursdays. Because you knew Friday's going to come, but it never gets here fast enough. And you didn't feel like doing anything because the weekends going to come, sooner or later... You're just stuck.

I stared at my ceiling, the most boring-est part of my room. Actually, my whole room was pretty boring. Only 3 posters were on my wall, and the wall was pale pink for some reason. Ew. I was so out of it, I didn't even feel like picking up my guitar in the corner.

Then my phone suddenly busted into 'Secrets' by One Republic.

Tell me what you want to hear
Something that'll like those ears
Sick of all the insincere
I'm gonna give all my secrets away
This time, don't need another perfect lie
Don't care of all the critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away

I grabbed it, wondering who it was. Then I groaned. Of course. I should've seen it coming.

"Hello?" I said in the flattest, most unenthusiastic voice I could manage.

"Uh, hi, Skye," Mike said on the other end. "How ya doing?" I heard Shane in the background telling him to "cut to the chase already".

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"Okay, well, remember that day you showed us the sports shop, and we were staring at the skateboards...?"

"Uh-huh..." I braced myself.

"Well, we were wondering, if you wanted to, if you could, um-----" he was cut off, and suddenly Kevin's voice was in my ear.

"We want you to take us to the skate park!"

"What?" I said.

"We want you to take us to the -----"

"No, I heard you," I said quickly. "But... do you guys even own skateboards?"

"Psh, yeah!" I could just imagine Kevin rolling his eyes. "We are teenage guys, right?"

"But you're semi-famous musically-talented teenage guys," I told him. Not to mention annoying and hot. Mostly annoying though.

"Just take us there," Shane's voice came on. "Or Kevin's going to burst into tears."

"Oh, fine." I sighed. "Meet me at the library. See you in 10 minutes." I hung up.

Well, now I've got something to do. Even if that something was babysitting 3 hot guys in a public place... Oh, what the hell. It's been a while since I took my board for a spin anyway.

"So here we are, the skate park," I announced. I waved a hand around me at the half pipe and the park. Guys zoomed up and down the cement, showing off. Some laughed on the benches while others competed to see who could wipe out first. I even saw a guy teaching his girlfriend to skate.

"Whoa, awesomeness!" Kevin exclaimed. If he was a girl, he'd be squealing. Or maybe a guinea pig. He pushed his red baseball cap up, staring at everything with a comical expression. Like a blind man suddenly cured and could see the sky.

I led them over to the edge of the park. "Hey, Luc, what's up?"

"The Skye!" Lucas grinned. “I see you brought your friends from the arcade here. Going to teach them to skate?"

"We can do it," said Kevin indignantly. "I'm just not sure about Skye."

"I don’t know," mused Mike. "She’s pretty surprising so far."

Lucas laughed. "Yeah, that she is. You just wait until she goes on the half pipe---"

"Shut up, Luc," I said. "I haven’t skated for too long. I'm all rusty."

"But I bet you're still good," Luc said stubbornly. "Those skills don’t just fade."

I sighed. "Whatever." I looked at the guys. "Well, whatcha waiting for? Christmas? Go!"

Kevin immediately rushed off, while Mike followed more slowly. Shane didn’t have a board, so he sat down next to me. He pushed back his hood, but left his sunglasses on.

"Wanna use my board?" I offered.

He looked at me. "Weren't you gonna go? I want to see if you can actually skate." They still wouldn't believe I could skate. I own a freaking board, for god's sake.

Before I could answer, Kevin did this thing like he's trying to flip but ended up ollying instead, yelling, "Whoohoo!" All the girls in the place (not that many) watched as he did a grind on the railings.

"That's it," Shane said, standing up. "I'm gonna show him what real skateboarding is like." He grabbed my board and sped off.

Amused, I watched as they flipped, aired, and wiped out. Mike wasn’t half-bad either. Just not particularly awesome at it either. And they thought I couldn’t skate.

Lucas sat down beside me. "Dude, you should be out there. I don’t wanna see all those weeks of learning go to waste. You were the best student I ever had! And you never show up anymore."

"I'm the only student you've ever had,” I pointed out.

"But you walked away with a new skill, eh?" he said, smiling. "And it was for free. You were lucky. Anyone else I'd charge."

"It’d better be free, you idiot," I told him, whacking him. "I'm the only one willing to spend so much time with a weirdo like you."

"Oh, shut up," he grumbled. "And actually, there is someone else who wants to spend time with me."

"Really? Your parents don't count you know-----"

"Not my parents!!"

"Okay, okay..." I laughed. "Who?" When he hesitated, I gasped dramatically. "Did Lukey-Pooh finnnnnnaaallllyyy find himself a girlfwend?"

"Shhhh!" He was smiling though. "She's not my girl yet... but call it 'in progress'."

I beamed. "I feel so proud."
