Kylie's birthday had passed, and it was 2 days or boredom and shit, basically. I didn't talk much to anyone in my family after the dinner incident and it went in a downward spiral from that point. I tried sneaking Martin into my room only for my mother who happened to be awake at 1 in the morning to bump into him and to show him his way back to his room, thinking that he somehow got lost in our average sized house. We did nothing but lay around in our sweatpants all day, either on our phone or scrolling through the channels on our television while Kylie and Ryan ate each other's mouth off on the couch beside us. It was awesome, family time awesomeness. I just couldn't wait to get out of there and fly right back to Miami, where Ultra awaited Martin and I. Minutes felt like hours and hours felt like days, but we eventually got there and here I am, standing in front of my mirror in our hotel in Miami.
I looked at myself and exhaled. I tried to breath slowly to fully calm myself down, while both of my hands were resting on the sink. I heard a light knock on the door and the beatings of my heart slightly sped up with excitment.

"Come in,"

Martin opened the door and seeing his face appear in the door frame somehow made me realize that this was it, today was the day where I would perform on the stage I've always dreamed of seeing, which I never even thought I would see somewhere else than on my phone or my television, let alone perform on. I looked at him as joy escaped my every movement, brightness filling my eyes and I couldn't help but giggle, as if this was the authomatic reaction my body had when it couldn't contain all the joy.

"Are you ready?"

"Is this even a question you have to ask?" I replied, pulling him closer by the collar of his shirt.

"I suppose not," he chuckled, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I gave him a small kiss and grabbed his hand, leading him out the door of our room.

We took the elevator and went down in the lobby, where Rick and Lauren, along with some of Martin's friends and other managers waited for us. They greeted us rapidly, hurried us into Martin's tour bus at the same time as speaking through their phones and trying to keep fans from slowing us down. Martin held my hand the entire time, squeezing it from times to
times. We hopped on the bus and the second we were in, it started moving, the music started playing and colorful lights started illuminating the interior of the bus. It was already starting to get dark outside, although it was only 6 p.m., Martin and I started our show at 9 for me and at 10 for Martin. In the meantime I needed to get dressed, I needed to see the makeup artist, I had to eat and I had to make sure everything was perfectly ready for the show; my tracks, my remixes, light effects, and Martin and I of course had to rehearse our surprise track together.

I was sitting down, trying to calm myself down and my heart was practically beating out of my chest. I glanced at Martin, who was laughing in the front of the bus with some of his friends, playing some music so loud like he was born ready, like he had done this billions of times and like it didn't make him anxious at all, while I was there, trying to breathe normally so I could get enough oxygen and not die before playing mainstage at my favorite music festival of all times. We made eye contact and his laughter fainted, he came closer to me and left his friends partying in the front alone and sat next to me.

"Are you doing okay?" he asked, a little louder than I expected in order to speak over the music.

"Yeah, I'm just, you know..." I trailed off, glancing down at my hands that were resting on my knees, "Stressed out?" I continued, sounding like I was questionning my own emotions.

"Mel, you're one hell of a good dj, your music is dope, you're fucking talented and people love you. This can't go wrong, it never did before,"

"But what if it does? Then what?"

"You start over. Mistakes happen. It has happened to a lot of djs, including me. I know you'll do great, you're better than you think you are," he grinned,  "And if you happen to freak out on stage, turn around, I'll be right behind you,"

I looked up at him and smiled, a smile so genuine that it happened naturally, "You look so calm, aren't you nervous at all?"

"It happens sometimes, you know, that's normal. But this is what I love doing, I love the sensation it gives me, so to me it's like doing what I want, making people happy with my music and I wouldn't be the same without all of this, so no, it usually doesn't make me that nervous. I usually am too fucking excited to get on stage, I don't have time to feel anxious," he replied, slightly smirking.

His friends called his name so that he would come back, and I gave him the green light to go, smiling as he sometimes reminded me of a child, who gets excited and fascinated by almost everything.
"Love you," he said,  planting a small kiss on my lips before joining his friends at the front of the bus.

After a few more songs, the bus finally came to a stop, the doors flew open and excitment could be felt in every part of the bus. As soon as we stepped outside, screams from fans, music coming from the mainstage and laughters were heard everywhere. I couldn't believe I was this close to achieving my goal. Fans surrounded us, but Rick led us through and we got backstaged in a matter of seconds, as I noticed a bunch of other djs, including Zedd, Steve Aoki, David Guetta and even Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike who came to greet us. Everything was happening so fast, and I didn't even have the time to look around and let realization hit me.

This was it, this was Ultra and tonight was the night.
