This is week has been one of the best weeks of my entire life, I don't need to explain why, because I've already explained it numerous times and it's pretty obvious. I was having so much fun and before I knew it, the festival was tonight. Martin and I got really close, we saw each other pretty much every day after I got signed to Spinnin' Records, which I haven't told anyone yet. I have no idea how it's going to be, I have no idea which track I am going to release first, all I know is that I'm really excited and I can't wait. I still haven't convinced my mom to go to the festival, but maybe she'll change her mind when I tell her about Martin and how he can get me backstage.

That's another thing I forgot to mention. If I do get my mom's approval, I will have the best spot and I will be able go backstage whenever I feel like it. How could she say no to that?

This morning was yet another breakfast filled with awkward silences and suspicious glares from my sister, considering I hadn't been with them throughout most of this week. Who could blame me? Hanging out with my family isn't much different than hanging out by myself.

I cleared my throat, grabbing everyone at the table's attention.

"I was wondering if you,..." I trailed off, looking up from my menu to meet my mother's eyes, "If you had made up your mind about the festival tonight, I-I already have a ticket and-

"My mind has been made up ever since you first talked to me about this," my mother replied, annoyed.

"No, I know, but you wouldn't even need to buy me a ticket, Martin has one for me," I desperately said, trying my best to remain calm.

"That boy you've been ditching your family for? I don't care if he has one for you, my answer is still no,"
Hypocrisy at its finest.

"But mom please! I don't understand why Kylie gets to go and I don't,"
"Enough Melody!" my mother snapped, scaring me a little, "You are not going to that festival, do you understand?"

"Yes," I mumbled, looking down.

"Do you understand?" she asked once again, as anger rose in her voice.

"Yes!" I yelled back, standing up from my chair, "If you'll excuse me,"

I walked out of the restaurant as fast as I could and as far away possible so that they couldn't find me. I know I seemed so childish, running away from the argument instead of trying to solve it, but I had had enough.
I suddenly heard my phone ring and smiled when I saw who it was.

"Martin! I was just about to call you,"
"I guess we're synchronized," I heard him chuckle through the phone, "But yeah, are you coming tonight?"
I bit my lip, and thought about my mother and I's dispute.

"Yeah, totally!" I replied.

"Really? That's awesome! Your mom said yes?"
"No, she said no,"
"What? Then I don't understand..." he trailed off, confused.

"I'm coming anyway, I won't let her ruin my night,"

"Oooh feisty!"
"Yep," I replied, giggling.

I've never disobeyed my mother. I disobey other people all the time, but never my mother. Well, everything starts somewhere, am I right? I just needed to sneak out without her noticing, but I'm guessing it won't be that much of a deal. I just have to wait until they fall asleep, or pretend I'm going for a walk or something.
It'll be a piece of cake!

I hope.

I looked at my phone which indicated 9:48 p.m.
The festival had already started, and I couldn't help but feel like I was missing out. Martin's performance was from 10:30 a.m. to 12:05 a.m. and I had to be there before that, I just had to.
So many awesome DJs were here tonight, all of the people I've listened to numerous times, dancing around in my room by myself, wishing I could attend a festival one day.

Now here I am, waiting for the right moment to sneak out of my hotel room to go to one.

My parents were playing cards with friends they had met here, and I don't think she would notice if I was gone for a while.

"Mom, I'm going to go for a walk, I need some fresh air," I said, heading towards the door.
"Ok honey, but don't take too long, tomorrow we're waking up early to catch our plane!"

Right.

I totally forgot we were leaving tomorrow, and it made me sad just thinking about it. I would go back to the cold and icy temperature Canada has. I would go back to school in a couple of days, and I felt like throwing up. I wouldn't see Martin as often as I do now, chances are I wouldn't see him ever again. I needed to make tonight the best night of my life. I also had to make sure my sister wouldn't see me at the festival, or I'm in trouble.

I looked at myself in the mirror one last time and readjusted my clothes. I had the music festival look. Flower crown, which I'm pretty sure will end up in my backpack, high waisted shorts and something similar to a bralette, except with more coverage, converse and of course a backpack.

Once I was sure I was good to go, I closed the door behind me and suspiciously made my way towards the entrance of the resort.

It was just beside our resort, but it was still a 15 minute walk. Martin would apparently wait for me at the entrance of the festival, because he pretty much has my ticket, but I wasn't sure where exactly he would be.

The closer I got the more excited I was getting, the louder the music was, I could just feel the energy from here, even though I was walking completely alone in dark streets. Once I finally got to the main entrance, I could see the stage from where I was, and the feeling it gave me to be able to experience such a wonderful thing was unreal. Only seeing the lights and the crowd jumping to the beat of the music made me feel this indescribable feeling, one I've never felt before, and I wasn't even in the crowd yet.

I looked everywhere for Martin as I got in the line where people waited to give their tickets, but couldn't find him. I opened my backpack to get my phone and text him.

"Ticket please,"

I looked up from my phone to see the security guard talking to me, as he waited for me to give him my ticket.

"Uh, I don't have it at the moment," I mumbled, looking around for Martin.

"No ticket, no festival, please step out of the line," he ordered, with a serious look.

"It's ok George, she's with me," Martin came from behind the security guard, smiling at me.

Always at the right moment, Martin.
