"You heard me," he chuckled, "I can't believe no one has found you yet,"

"Well no one has ever heard my tracks, apart from you, my parents and my best friend," I smiled.

"What?" he almost yelled, practically standing up from the floor, "you need to show someone, what are you waiting for?"

"I just didn't think I was good enough,"

"Are you kidding? I am totally presenting you to my manager," he grinned.

I didn't know whether I should be excited or not, I didn't even understand what was happening, and before I knew it, Martin had heard one of my songs and wanted to present me his manager. It was too good to be true, this only happens in movies. Either I'm really lucky, either I'm dreaming or there's a catch.

Suddenly the elevator began moving again, and it caught me by surprise and almost made Martin fall. Luckily I was already on the floor, I'm pretty sure I would've fallen otherwise.
I was almost disappointed that the elevator had started working again, it meant we could get out now, but I wanted to stay with Martin a little longer. The doors finally opened and I stood up, getting out.

"Hey, I never got your number," Martin said, turning my way.
"You never asked for it," I replied, as my heartbeat increased.

This is not happening.

"True," he smirked, "Here's mine," he said, handing me a piece of paper with numbers written on it.
"Just don't leak it or something," he said, grinning.

"No, I won't, don't worry" I said, nervously laughing.

As if I would do that, I didn't want anyone else to have his number.

"Oh, and what's your name?"
"Melody, but you can call me Mel," I replied, putting his number in my purse.

"Well, it was nice meeting you Mel," he softly smiled, "I'm keeping my promise, you'll meet my manager,"
"You didn't promise anything,"
"Well I do now," he smirked, slowly walking away, "Oh and by the way, I'm glad I got stuck with you,"

I blushed, looking down, "Yeah, see you around," I smiled, even though I knew he wouldn't even remember me tomorrow.

I walked past the numerous tables which were now full of deserts and finally spotted the table where my parents, sister and her boyfriend were sitting. I got to their table, trying to keep myself from screaming about what had just happened and pulled my best poker face.

"Omg, Mel, Where were you? That's not really respectful," my sister asked, taking a sip out of her wine glass.
"Your sister is right, Melody. Why did it take you so long?"

I stayed silent for a while, not sure whether I should tell them about my elevator adventure with Martin Garrix or not.

I finally decided to attempt a lie.

"I fell asleep, I'm just so tired!" I said, awkwardly attempting something that might look like a yawn.
I awkwardly sat down hoping that they would believe me.

"Oh ok, we were worried about you, you know,"
Haha! Really mom?
"Yeah..." I trailed off, "Sorry,"

Throughout the rest of the dinner, I was by myself, but I didn't really mind. I was lost in my thoughts. I kept thinking about Martin and I smiled to myself while I ate my creme brulee as I thought of our whole conversation. He really was as sweet as everyone said he was. I wanted to tell the whole world that I had met him, and that he was even more awesome than I thought he would be, and that he thought I was cute, and that he thought my track was great and that I deserved recognition, and that he gave me his number. I wanted to jump and tell the whole world how happy he made me feel.

But I'm just another fan.

He did give me his number, but it didn't mean anything, if I text him he will probably not remember me and wonder how I got his number.

"Mel?"
I looked up from my lap and noticed that everyone was staring at me.
"Hm?"
"Can you please tell me why your name is the number 1 trend on Twitter," my sister said, showing me her phone screen.
"Wh-what? There's plenty of Melodys in the world, it's probably a different one?" I said, but it came out more as a question than a statement.
"Right, and that must be a different Melody on that picture too I suppose," my sister said, her voice full of sarcasm as she showed me the picture she was talking about.

My eyes widened as I grabbed her cellphone.

"That must have been a nice nap lil' sis," she arrogantly chuckled, taking her phone back, pressing her lips together.

I took out my phone and clicked on the twitter app with my index and my eyes widened as I saw my timeline, my notifications, my private messages, and the number of followers I had just earned.
I scrolled down my mentions and one of them caught my attention.

My heart skipped a beat as I read who had written it.
