The Path of a Grey Jedi

The Ghost crew had to stay low for a while because of Kanan and Ezra. After what happened, they needed time to recover. The crew stayed low for 3 weeks. Kanan was practicing his force sight while Hera was almost in the cockpit all the time. Sabine was in her room painting...but not painting her usual bright pictures, she painted dark and scary ones and Zeb was mostly in the kitchen or in the cockpit with Hera. As for Ezra.....he rarely left his cabin. Since his nightmare, he didn't really eat much or do anything. He was just in there, he let no one in. Not even Zeb and especially  not Kanan. The blind Jedi tried to talk to Ezra many times and get him to open up but it just wasn't working. Ezra shut out everyone, he was a ghost of who he once was.

After 3 long weeks, Commander Sato finally sent a message about one mission.

"Everyone get in here, Commander Sato wants to tell us about an upcoming mission"Hera said from the common room

After a few minutes everyone was in the common room except Ezra.

"Where's the kid?"Zeb asked while looking aroun but Hera clearly sighed in concern "I'll tell him about the mission seperately

"What about the upcoming mission?" Sabine asked noticing the tense atmosphere as the female Twi'lek spoke "The mission is to steal some imprtant info from an Imerial base on Tatooine. The plan is that we will sneak inside the base, then when we are in Ezra is going to crawl in the vents and get the info..."Hera was interrupted by Kanan "Ezra is going on this mission?"

"Yes,he is the key. Don't you have ears?"Sabine snapped at Kanan, she was clearly stressed out herself

"But Hera...."Kanan started

" I know that you are worried about Ezra but we need him on this mission and the plan is from Commander Sato so we can't change anything"Hera answered as Kanan sighed "...Alright"

"As I was saying,Ezra is going to get the info, we will meet him at the landing platform. Everyone understand?"

Everyone nodded except Kanan as they left the common room, leaving the Jedi and the twi'lek alone.

"Kanan I know that you don't want Ezra on this mission but it will be okay. Nothing bad will happen...besides you taught him. It will be fine"Hera said gently touching Kanan's arm Kanan's shoulder

"I know..I know i'm just worried"Kanan said looking down as Hera followed his gaze, reassuring him again "It will be alright"

Kanan sighed as he nodded "I'll go tell Ezra about the mission". Hera stayed silent, seeing the nervousness in the older man.

Kanan exited the common and started heading towards Ezra's cabin. In front of the cabin door he hesitated but then muttered

"Ezra?"Kanan said knocking on the door. It was silent, the younger boy didnt answer. So Kanan knocked again saying "Can you please open the door?"

"Kanan please just...go away" Ezra said weakly from the inside of the cabin. Kanan was taken a back, usually the raven haired boy doesnt even answer.

"I want to talk to you...theres a mission"Kanan said and opened the door with the force. The older man winced as he noticed the boy on the bottom bunk. Ezra did not look good, he had bags under his eyes like he hasnt slept in months. His hair was a complete mess. But...the look in his eye was the most horrfying thing. There was absouletly no life in his face, he looked so...numb.

"...A-As I said, we have a mission and I wanted you to know the plan since its going to start soon" Kanan said realising he had been silently just standing there for a few moments. Ezra turned to the older man, his look was so weak, his eyes resambled glass. But suddenly the look changed in a matter of second, turning into irritation.
