chapter 38

Nova's pov-

the pain was unbearable my muscles were tense probably only making the pain i felt worse

i heard voices talking above me

yelling

calling out what i thought to be my name

what was my name again?

crack

another broken bone

my mind fuzzy with pain

i can't handle this i howled

"hold on" a voice broke through my mind

"Daniel?" i questioned to myself

cold air hit my skin

hard ground under my back

more voices

snap

that bone was lower now

a shrill scream ripped through the air

my voice box vibrated

was i screaming

pain soared through my bod

"we're shifting" i heard Kieara say as i howled in pain

"i thought we couldn't shift?" i snarled out

"well apparently we can"

Daniel's pov

i didn't know what to do nor did i know what was happening as my little mate withered in my grip

another snap

another bone broken

"she's shifting Daniel" my mother said "take her out side she might need room"

i did as i was told y eyes fixated on my mate all my attention was focused on her and the large amount of broken bones she had i could barely register the pain that she was in

my mother held the door open for me but as far as i was concerned i didn't care about the door as and i didn't care where i took her as i laid her down on the grass just as she screamed my wolf whined

"we need to shift" he howled

"w-w-what why?" i questioned my heart racing voice calm but stuttered  even though her pain to me was like a jack hammer to the heart

"she needs our support she could die Daniel" he growled

i could imagine his lips curled over his sharp white fangs Nova withered on the ground and i turned frantic giving my wolf enough time to shift us i hovered other her little body my ten foot height black wolf towered over her seemingly fragile body that had flipped over in our shift her thigh and calf bones cracked and she cried out tears streaming down her face as i gently gathered her into my body holding her which seemed to numb the pain slightly but made her shift faster and before i knew anything i was holding her large body against me she almost rivaled my height

we were sat in my mothers rose garden and this moment was perfect but there was only one problem ...

Nova wasn't breathing
