chapter nine {revised}

Daniel's pov-

"Open up Nova" i chimed smiling

but she was all but smiles she frowned at me she was pale and maybe a little grumpy a growl left her lips as i brought the spoon closer to her mouth okay maybe very grumpy she snarled at me and my wolf whimpered

"open you mouth and take you medicine Nova" i told her using my Alpha tone

she raised her eyebrow pulling the blanket over her and turning onto her side my jaw dropped oh yeah she's the daughter of on Alpha she sneezed which caused a coughing fit which had me placing the sticky liquid down and pulling her into a sitting position rubbing her back to ease the coughing

"Daniel" my sisters mind linked me i hummed though the link as Novas fit subsided and she leaned into me"our parents are here"

my eyes widened with surprise i sighed kissing my sick mates forehead and she blinked up at me leaning a little more into my touch

"i have to go deal with something my little one I'll be back okay?" she nodded as she laid back "and stay in bed" i warned her "i don't want you getting any sicker"

Nova's pov-

i watched him leave and sighed happily sniffling through my blocked nose i pulled the blanket around me resting my head back on the pillow allowing my body to relax until i started shivering

my body shook viciously i whimpered wanting Daniel i sighed then the yelling began loud voices  flew  though the house close to the room followed by a growl that i knew and one i didn't i frowned slowly sitting up a the growls got louder and closer

i gently pushed the blanket off my body then slowly slid out of bed my curiosity getting the best of me

Daniel's pov-

"you can't go up here" i growled at my father who growled back

"i can and i will" he hissed

i heard feet padding softly across the floor boards and my fathers eyes shot down to the noise i turned only to be met with my little mate my father growled at her

"Rouge" he snarled but i ignored him

moving over to her she sneezed and I smiled wiping her nose with my sleeve she made a disgusted face at me as I lifted her up

"I told you to stay in bed" I said to her

looking back at my parents ignoring the angered look my father had on his face focusing on my mom who held a look of curiosity

"excuse me for a second" I told them

as I carried her across the landing her head resting on my shoulder as she yawned making a noise similar to a puppy i smile as i entered our room and laid her down on the bed feeling my parents in the door way my wolf didn't like them near my weak smalland sick mate and it took all the control I had in me not to growl back at them I straightened up but she grabbed my arm

"don't leave" she whispered I smiled kneeling down once again

"go to sleep" I told her stroking my fingers softly over her forehead "I'll be back up here soon like i promised"

her eyes slowly fluttered closed and moments later she was snoring softly I pressed a soft kiss to my sick little mates forehead before climbing to my feet and walking out into the hall where my parents stood I closed the door to our room them beckoned them down stairs not even getting two steps down them until the questions started

"whats her name" my father asked his grey eyes emotionless except for a small flare of anger that he always had when he was around me we didn't have a lot in common i got everything from my mom, i was a mamas boy after all

"her name is Nova no I didn't poke anything"

"is she your child" my mother asked gently

"she's not my daughter"

"then why is the runt still around" my father barked angered

I couldn't stop the growl rising in my throat as I growled at my father my wolf coming through wanting to protect our mate

"she's MINE!" I got out causing my mother to smile

I took deep calming breaths but couldn't keep my wolf down I couldn't stop growling the wolf side of my didn't like the disrespect that they gave to her and the disrespect they gave to me as an Alpha and her as a Luna

I felt something wrap around my leg causing tingles to shoot through my body as it was held tightly

"mate" my wolf said as he calmed down

I looked down seeing nova holding my leg I knelled down lifting up her chin tears were streaming down her face I pulled her closer and she cried into my shoulder I took a deep breath in through my nose wanting to take in her scent but regretting it when I got a nose full of blood a familiar smelling blood that belonged to Nova

I pulled back looking her over growling when I saw the shallow slice along her chest that was definitely a wolfs claw why didn't i notice that before?

she held something in her fist tightly her body was trembling I grabbed her small fist as she opened her hand I took the large crumpled up piece of paper I opened it up while rubbing her back gently

I want my daughter back

and it's either you give her too me willingly

or I take her from you

the maritime pack

I looked up at her she was trembling I pulled her too me my wolf stimulating her healing process as the skin around the cut pulled together and healed leaving a long pink line on the surface 

"you should have never left mate alone" my wolf told me

"I know" I mumbled

pulling her body closer to mine closing all possible gaps between us how dare someone threaten me how dare someone hurt whats mine
