nova's pov-

the feeling of my bones cracking was a feeling that i had missed over that short period of time i had spent in doors kieara was more then just excited to feel the moist dirt under our paws daniel was never far behind i could feel his body brush against my shoulder and i knew it wasn't the wind blowing against my ear

soft purrs also alerted me to his close proximity

i looked to him and our eyes met

blue to brown

issuing a silent challenge

he cocked his head to the side just as i took off as fast as i could he howled into the wind, a wolf loved a good chase

daniel's pov-

the fire had never left her eyes as we ran shoulder to shoulder with only the crunching of the leaves and the harshness of our breath to keep us company

i don't know how long we had ran for

or how many mile

how far from our territory we were

or where we were for that matter

 but i didn't care where we were because as long as she was by my side i was going in the right direction and i could protect her i always would and always will

i looked to her through the corner of my eyes a wolfy grin was on her face and i frowned yelping in surprise when she tackled me to the ground we rolled for a few seconds until i pinned her to the grass she seemed to involuntarily shift back to human form as my large black wolf hovered over her

she was breathing hard her cheeks pink for the assertion and i began to fear that i had let her push herself to hard i whined but i only received as smile in return i sighed relieved that she wasn't hurt

i shifted back so i hovered over her my face not far from her own i lifted a hand coming down to press against her cheek gently feeling her soft skin against my palm pushing my head into her neck nuzzling her there which released a string of contagiouse giggles that soon had me laughing too

i looked back to stare at her face then looked down my eyes honing in on the three slash marks that rested there i reached down with the hand that was touching her face to touch the jagged scars i brushed my thumb over them

"they don't hurt" her sweet voice soothed as i looked up at my beautiful mate and smiled

"i know"

i balanced my weight on my forearms beside her head hovering over her small and fragile looking body her legs on either side of mine as took on the looks of my small mate from her black hair to the small freckles on her face i couldn't fight the loving smile that made it's way onto my face as i brought my lips down to hers for a small peck that soon turned into a deep and loving kiss that had us both breathless as we pulled away

"i love you" she whispered

"i love you more" i mumbled pecking her lower lip earning a purr to vibrate along her chest

she snuggled closer to me and i held her body firmly to my own as i stroked my fingers down the center of her back then i looked up as the sun beamed over our heads

and i had a feeling

just a small tinge of hope

that our feature

was only going to get brighter
