chapter 21

Daniel's pov-

she was sleeping by the time we arrived at the cottage she was dirty and damp from the ground where she had fallen but it didn't matter to me i could replace sheets but i could do the same for her

i walked up the steps only two people knew about this cottage well soon to be four people that was me and my little mate and Amy and who ever her mate is, the cottage itself is so deep into the forest that you can't even see it when all the lights are on at night

there are two on-suit rooms with of course a bathroom and a shower as well as another shower for those who don't want to share as you walk into the house there is a medium sized kitchen on the left and on the right a short hallway to the large lounge room the cottage is two stories high but is still dwarf by the trees around it the upstairs are mainly bedrooms a small library and my office.

i was planning on showing her this place when we initiate her as Luna of the pack, when she's older, or whenever she wanted too, but right now she really seemed like she wanted to get away.

she stirred in my hold as i laid her back down bridal style in my arms from the position i had her in to help me open the door her eyes fluttered open and she yawned causing me to smile i went to set her down but her arms around my neck prevented me from doing that so i carried her upstairs

"where are we going?" her sleepy voice reached my ears

"i'm putting you to bed little one" i whispered she hummed in response as she nodded off again

i made my way down the wide hall my room was on the right while Amy's was on the left my room led into my office further down the hall were the big oak double doors that led to the library.

i moved nova around in my arms and she happily snuggled deeper into my neck as i opened the door carrying her to the double bed where i laid her down and she released my neck and was soon sleeping

i kissed her forehead pulling the blanket up to her chin then left the room moving downstairs to the kitchen i began making myself something to each on the polished clean bench tops thank you Amy who had made sure to keep every thing clean and fresh i made myself a turkey sandwich one that i ate quickly going upstairs to snuggle with my sleeping mate

two days later

i did pack work from the cottage Nova didn't want to go to the pack house and i was fine with that i looked up from my laptop she was sitting on the window ledge a book in her hands this was how we spent the last few day:

we would get up, eat, come here i work she reads and sometime looks over my shoulder or sits in my lap i didn't really mind where she was sometimes she would read to me, then we would have dinner watch a little TV before we cuddled up on the bed with the AC on low

but today was different i hadn't told anyone where i was but they knew i was safe i made sure of that but when my sister tried to mind link me and tried everything she could to break though my barriers i knew her news was urgent

"Amy are you al----"

"AlphaFlorencejustwagedwaragainstus!" she spoke really quickly

i froze and i felt nova grip my arm i looked down at her but didn't say a word my claws came out and dug into the table i was meters away from losing it

"he what?" i linked back

but i heard what she said no matter how fast she had said it but i only wished that i had misheard her

"he''s waged war Daniel and he' going to stop at nothing until Nova is back with him and ..... you're dead"
