Chapter 20

Life is something that can never be rushed. Lessons are taught, obstacles are seen and sometimes there are moments where you wish that you could just scream. You wonder why life is like that. Why was it like a leech? Why did it stay latched on to you? The answer you kept seeking was still hidden beneath the depths of your heart.

It was just a typical day for you. You and Akiza were preparing for your graduation from Duel Academy. Although, you hadn't mentioned your engagement to her nor to your other friends. At the moment, you were getting ready for school. Lyna asked, "Are you nervous?" You reply as you finish doing your hair, "Of course I am. I mean Aki and I are graduating in a few months." You then add, "I'm still trying to keep my engagement a surprise from everyone. The only one that knows is probably Yusei." "Y/N, Akiza's here!" Lyna said, "Well, we'd better get going." You nod and go downstairs.

"YOU WHAT?!" Crow flinches at Jack's voice. Crow replies, "Jack, I didn't eat your ramen!" Jack yells, "THAT'S NOT WHY I'M ANNOYED, CROW!" Crow let out a small sigh, "Well, why are you annoyed then?"  Jack replies, "I'm annoyed that you didn't ask me to accompany you yesterday." Crow began to mentally sweat. He quickly answers, "Yusei was helping me out with some deliveries. Right, Yusei?" He looks to his sapphire-eyed friend with frantic eyes. Yusei clears his throat, "He's right. It was nothing special." When Jack left, Crow lets out a breath of relief. He said, "Thanks for covering for me, Yusei." Yusei replies, "You're going to have to tell them eventually you know." Crow responds, "I know."

"Alright everyone, good job. Now who would like to show us an example of a high-level synchro monster?" Akiza whispers to you, "This is why I hate stuff like this." You mutter back, "This is worse than Jack and his rant about his Red Dragon Archfiend." The teacher remarks, "Y/N, since you think it's polite to chat during class, why don't you do the honour of answering the question?" You stand up and reply, "Easy. There are a lot of high-level synchro monsters like Supreme Arcanite Magician and Black Rose Dragon." Akiza mutters to herself, "It's just like Y/N to answer so flawlessly." The teacher clears her throat in embarrassment, "C-Correct. Anyone else?" This is going to be a long class.

After that, you both let out a sigh of relief. Akiza groans, "I thought that would never end!" You nod in agreement, "One more sentence and I thought I was going to be brain dead." Akiza looked a bit surprised, "Really? I thought you'd like stuff like that." You reply, "As much I like to study, that was a bit much." Akiza laughs, "It seems like Crow is rubbing off of you." You blush, "H-He is?" Akiza couldn't stop laughing, "I'm not saying that's a bad thing. It means that Crow really loves you." You rub the back of your neck in embarrassment. You remark, "W-Well...I guess so." Akiza then adds, "Come on, let's meet up with everyone else." You nodded and you both leave the academy.

About thirty minutes later, you were all at your house. You had decided that it was time for a change in scenery. Yusei, Jack and Crow look around in amazement. Crow looks around, "I thought Y/N would be here already." Akiza face palms, "This is her house, Crow. Of course she's going to be here." Footsteps were heard, causing everyone one to turn around. You sheepishly smile, "Sorry for taking so long. My parents needed my help with some errands." Yusei replies, "Don't worry about it. Anyway, you look excited." Your cheeks turn a bright scarlet in response. Crow wraps his arms around you and remarks, "Well, actually....we have something to tell you all." Jack responds, "Well? Out with it then!" You look at Crow, who nods in response. Crow said, "I may have asked Y/N an important question." You add, "Crow asked me to marry him!" It took a moment for everyone to process the news. Jack asked, "Hold on, did Yusei know about this?" Yusei replies, "Of course I did, I helped Crow pick out Y/N's engagement ring." Akiza squeals, "Y/N, that's amazing!" Crow kisses your cheek, "That's right. This guy's gonna get married to this beautiful girl." Jack groans, "Ugh...keep the lovey dovey stuff to yourselves!" You reply back, "Not going to happen, Jack." Jack let out another groan in response.
