I.S.O.L.A.T.E.D ~ Lose to Win~

       It was the end of 7th period and me and Prince were attached to each other like white on rice, he wouldn't turn me lose for no reason , not even to go to the damn bathroom!. the bell rang and 8th period came. I did my test but the teacher kept eye-balling me like she was worried about me. I didn't look back at her I just kept my eyes forward and paying attention to the key words on the board. " Hey Avanna! , you have a call in the main office" some yells , it was Ms. Stem , my assistant principle. I didn't like that fact I got a call unexpectedly , it was kind of scary.

  I went into the main office and answered the phone , " Hello? , is this my baby?" she says calmly. I cover my mouth with nothing to say , I fell to my knees and broke down crying , I didn't have anything to say , I was speechless , this is the first time I have spoke to my mother since the incident. " Honey , babygirl don't fret baby , listen to me , can you hear me?" she says , " Mommy! , I miss you I want our life back please! , come home please!" I yell shaking and stuttering in my cry. the office people told me to clam down because I looked like I just seen a ghost. Goosebumps all over my skin and my hair was standing, it felt like I was talking to a ghost. " Baby girl , im fine , im going to be in a wheelchair for couple of months , but starting on Monday next week , I'll be home" she says crying so hard as she tried to keep it in. I didn't want to tell her what Ms. James was doing to me and how I didn't feel comfortable , but I didn't want her to throw a fit and worry about me and Antonio. " Mom! , I-I , I just miss you so much , I just want everything back the way it was!" I say yelling again , " honey , lower your voice , and tell me , is the baby alright?" she asks , " yes momma he is fine , I had one of the neighbors of Ms. James watch him" I say

    I was shaking waiting for her response , " alright , well get back to class and come see me tonight , I need to see you" she says I know she has a smile on her face so I nod and begin to smile too wiping my tears away. " Alright now , bye baby" she says hanging up. I sit there with the phone to my ear and the dial tone comes on. " Bye.... momma" I say as tears fall off my nose and I hang up the phone.

   " Is everything alright?" Ms. Stem asked , " yes everything is fine I say walking off cleaning off my face , I refuse to go into my class room crying , and Prince get all rowed up like I was threatened. I go into my class and sit back at my table. I finished my test and I sat next to Prince. " It was my mom , she called me , she let me know when she would be out" I say , he had a look on his face of happiness, " that's great! , Avanna , your mom will be out soon" he says hugging me , " did you tell her about Ms. James?"  he asks looking at me with a look ,and I know that look that means everything was serious. " No , I didn't , that's one thing I did not bring up" I say turning facing the board. " Avanna! , you need to tell your mom so she can file a police report on her , she can't go free with this , she murders  kids! and parents! , she tried to kill your mother!" he says getting more loud and loud. I sit putting my head down and tears hit the table.  " Avanna , please  , please don't cry im sorry okay , I didn't mean to yell its just... I care about you and ... I don't want you dead" he says hugging me and trying to stop me from crying. " Hey Prince give her space man , and stop yelling at her like that" Romelo says , like he was my older brother. " I'm sorry , I just can't bare the fact of the love of my life dying" he says holding onto me. I look up in rage on my face and the bell rings. I immediately grabbed my things and headed to my car. " Avanna! , stop!" Prince says running after me. I throw my stuff in my car and slam the door shut. " Chica! think about this , what are you going to do?!" she says pulling my arm.

  I give her a look and pull away , " I'm going to lose , to win" I say getting into the front seat of my car. " Chica , at least let us go with you!" she says  , " yes babygirl , you need all the support you'll need" says Romelo , "  we aren't going to  let you go alone" Prince says to me as the last to end it all. I look at them , " get in" I say with a clam tone and I have a side smile as they all jump in. " Buckle up , I have to go get Antonio" I say pulling off and breaking the speed limit.

  After a 30 minute ride I pulled up into the drive way and got out the car. I knocked on the door and Luke answered the door. " Hey Avanna!" he yells waving at me , " Hey buddy , where is your mom?" I say as he grabs my hand pulls me in. " She's in the living room feeding him" he says running and sitting on the couch. As I walked in I heard partially a lullaby that she was singing and it was so beautiful it attracted my attention. "Hush now , my baby , be still now don't cry sleep as your rocked by the stream , sleep and remember my last lullaby so I'll  be with you when you dream" I was sitting smiling as Antonio went to sleep right , then and there. I clapped a little , " That  was so beautiful " I said standing up. " Yeah , I use to sing  it to Luke when he was younger , it made him so sleepy" she said giving him to me with his bag. " You have  a beautiful voice , and I appreciate you watching him" I say pulling out 30$ from my bail money I had made working. " Oh , thank you darling and anytime you need a babysitter come to me" she says holding Luke. " Bye Avanna! , I'll see you tomorrow" Luke says waving and hugging my waist. I laughed " bye Luke" I say , " and don't worry I'll see you tomorrow" I say walking out and shutting the door.

   Prince got out and helped me with the baby , putting him in the car seat and buckling him up. " where are we going now chica?" she asks , " were going to go see my mom" I say pulling off. " Well are you going to tell her , I mean mom has to know , or she's going to want to know when you have marks on your face" she says pointing them out. I kept driving , I didn't answer to that " well I guess she will have to figure it out on her own" I say " what do you mean , she's going assume Ms. James put her hands on you" Prince says giving me a look. I looked at him than back on the road and smirked a little. " Sometimes you got to lose , to win".
