I was ready and walking down the street to the coffee shop. I'm nerves. Every date I have been on sense Ruby was born has always been fast and bad.

I haven't even had an actual relationship sense either. And Mark seams really nice and I really hope he won't be a flack like the rest. I just want someone that will be good to me and Ruby. I came to the coffee shop and walked in looking around to see if I can see Mark. And there he was sitting at a table in the corner by the window.

I couldn't help but smile at him. He was smiling and looking at his phone. So I easily walked over there with out him noticing me. He then looked up and saw me standing there. He stood up. "Hey didn't see you come in." He gave me a hug.

"Hi. I know I can easily be a ninja if I want to." I smiled.

"So do you want to get some coffee or something to drink?" He asked.

"Yeah. That would be good." I smiled and we both walked to the counter.

"May I help you?" The girl behind the counter asked us.

"Yeah can I have a coffee with a extra shot of espresso. What do you want?" He asked looking down at me.

"A hot chocolate with a shot of espresso." I said.

"Alright. That will be $6.25." She said. Mark handed her some money and got his change and reseat. We stood around and waited tell we got our drinks. Then we went back and sat down.

"So how have you been?" He asked.

"I've been good. Noting really spectacular." I said. "What about you?"

"Um pretty good. Just a normal day I guess." He smiled and it made me smile. "How long have you been working at the dinner?"

"Almost 3 years." I said. "It's nothing special but it pays for the bills. So what do you do?"

He chuckled. "I'm a YouTuber." He said, "I make videos. And post them online."

"I see. Maybe I should watch your videos sometime." I smiled.

"That would be cool." He said. "So what kind of stuff are you into?"

"Like hobbies or likes?" I asked.

"Both but hobbies first." He said.

"Ok. I like video games. Just putting that out there I like reading, I like working out. Superheros and comics. And I'm not sure what else." I said. "And my likes are probably around the same things."

"What, a person who reads... What a nerd!" He said laughing.

"Hey!" I said. "Reading is good and something that's easy to do." He laughed even more.

This is going great. I'm really happy. I just hope that when and if I tell him he won't get upset or mad or something. "You want to go for a walk?" He asked. "I know it's a bit cold but, it's nice out."

"Yeah that sounds great." We grabbed our drinks and headed out. We started walking around town and just talk. It was good. I was having a good time. I found out that marks a really funny, sweet, kind and just a plain cool guy. He made jokes left and right and I couldn't stop laughing. After about an hour of walking we decided that... Well he decided that he would walk me home. It was just a sweet gesture.

When we finally were at my front steps we stood there and looked at each other. "I had a great time." He said.

"Me to." I added.

"We should-" I cut him off.

"I need to tell you something before you say that." I said. He looked confused.

"Ok" he dragged it out.

"I have a daughter. So go ahead and say you'll call me and then leave and never call me again." I said looking at him.

"What?" He said. "Why do you think I'll do that?"

"Every time I go on a date they get freaked out and not want to go out on another date. Most guys are age aren't ready for families and don't want to have the feeling of being tied down." I added.

"I'm not like that. I don't care if you have a kid. I don't care if you use to strip for money." He chuckled at the end. That made me smile. Just to let you know. I never stripped for money. "I just care that you didn't lie or try to hide it. This shows that you are caring, kind, and responsible."

"It's just-" I was cute off.

"You having a kid doesn't mean anything. I asked you out because I wanted to get to know you. And you having a kid is fine. I'm not gonna be a flake. I'm not that kind of person." He said.

"Thanks." I said, "I'm glad to hear that. It's just, the past 3 years it never got past the first date. And I thought that maybe I won't tell them about my daughter on the first date but then I thought it's better to get it over with instead of dragging it out. And I don't want to just jump into a relationship."
"What's her name?" He asked.

"Ruby." I said. "And she's my whole world." He looked at me and smiled.

"Can I see a picture?" He asked. I pulled out my phone and showed him a picture. "She looks just like you."

"I know." I added. I looked down and smiled.

"So anyways." He said. I looked at him. "Now that you told me. I had a great time. We should do this again real soon."

"We should." I smiled. He gave me a hug.

"I'll text you later ok." He said.

"I'll be waiting." I smiled. He walked away and I headed inside.

Once upstairs I opened the door to see that Ruby was asleep and Rocky was on the ground also sleeping. I walked over to him and woke him up.

"What?" He asked.

"I'm back." I said picking Ruby up. "If you're tired take a nap on the couch. I'm taking Ruby to her room." I walked to Ruby's room. And placed her on her bed. She was still asleep and I covered her in a small blanket and walked back to the living room to see Rocky asleep on the couch.
