After smithing comes 7-3... I don't even want to think about it.

"So, what do you want as a reward?"

"I want to try shooting a gun like Mutsunokami!"

"Ehh! You like guns too?" She asked, surprised at his interest in weaponry.

"No, no, I just want to try it out! It's cool to me whenever Mutsunokami took his gun out and starts shooting at the enemies."

"Hmm... Understood. Meet me at the field tomorrow after breakfast."

Opening the suitcase, the parts of a pair of airguns was revealed. With nimble hands she assembled them together.

"I'll do a demonstration first."

Setting up a scarecrow, she then walked for a distance before turning and aiming at it. Loading a pellet, she did one final aim before pulling the trigger, sending a loud bang over the citadel. The tantou was awed at its deadly power even though it wasn't a real gun.

"I brought my air pistols since the government doesn't allow real pistols and rifles to be carried over here. I'll teach you now."

A crowd soon formed as the swords came to watch the pair. Teaching Maeda the basics, she allowed him to give a shot. Doing as he was told, Maeda then pulled the trigger.

"Good job! In the middle of the chest!" The sage exclaimed as she walked nearer to take a closer look. Maeda then smiled, and ran towards the scarecrow to take a look at his shot.

"It's no wonder that weaponry took over swords. They're much more deadly and accurate."

"Aruji! Let me try!" Mutsunokami ran towards her and was eager to try out before the sage could react to the tantou's words.

"Let me teach you the basics first."

As the pistols were kept back to the suitcase, the sage then stood up and walked back to her room. Along the way she met Maeda who just finished fieldwork.

"Maeda! What do you think of the guns?"

"They are really much more advanced than us swords, and accurate too. It's way better than arming with musketeers in the battlefield."

"Maeda."

The sage then squatted down to match his height.

"Want to try it again? Almost everyone's out for sorties and expeditions."

"Sure! Thank you, Master!"

Both then ran off to the field again and started shooting at the poor scarecrow.
