~Yamatonokami Yasusada~
大和守安定

Requested by SaniwaTsukikoAkahana! Hope you've enjoyed reading it! :D
--------------------------------------------------------

He didn't realise that he had fallen so deep till he couldn't stay afloat, so does the sage.

Seeing her cry always made him weak.

Seeing him full of injuries always made her upset.

He remembered the first time he saw her.

"I'm Yamatonokami Yasusada. I hope we'll get along." He said as he took a good look at his master.

"N-Nice to meet you, I am F/N L/N." She introduced herself, giving a small bow. Stretching her hand into her pocket, she took out something and gave it to him. He then took a look before realising what it was.

"H-Here's an omamori! It prevents you from breaking-" Her words soon faded as she felt her vision turn blur, falling towards the ground. Catching her in time, Yasusada then realised that she was heaving breaths. Putting his hand over her forehead, he took it back almost immediately.

Such a high fever!

Carrying her up, he then ran towards a place where he heard noise for help.

"Someone help her!"

~~

As time went by, he knew his feelings well.

He would always ask himself why would he fall for her when he was just a god who was gifted with a human body.

Does a sword have these feelings too?

He had never felt it before when he was still in his sword form.

All he knew was to kill enemies that opposed against his master, Okita Souji.

But now, he realised that he loved her deeply.

He was afraid that she wouldn't accept his feelings.

~~

She gave a small sigh as she looked at his records.

He was an uchigatana used by one of the Shinsengumi's member, Okita Souji, along with Kashuu Kiyomitsu.

She then read on, closing the book as long as she finished reading it.

Just yesterday, his team was beaten up quite badly; 3 heavily injured including him.

Blood was everywhere.

She almost broke down as soon as she saw him in the repair room being tended by the other swords.

Controlling her emotions, she then started repairing him; healing every cut and wound he got from the enemies. After almost five hours, every sword was healed up, including those who had light injuries. Sitting beside the unconscious him, her fingers then lightly traced his face. Lowering her head down, she gave a peck on his forehead before breaking down.

It hurt her to see him in that condition, because she loved him.

She was afraid that he didn't feel in that way towards herself.

~~

Everything was fine till she received a message from her family.

They cut their ties with her, abandoning her.

Biting her lips, she gripped on the paper tightly, trying to calm herself down.

It was nothing, said the sage, trying to focus on her daily paperwork.

It has been two years since she became a sage, and it caused a huge conflict between her and her parents when she told them that she wanted to be one.

"Don't step into this household again if you want to be a sage."

She remembered vividly.

She had found her love, and yet it was one-sided.

~~

As his team came back from an expedition, he went to her office to report about the results.

"Aruji! I am here to report about the expedition!"

"Sorry Yasusada, I am not feeling very well, so report after we have dinner." She said, hoping that he would go off.

He sensed sadness between her words.

Sliding the door, he looked at the sage who was surprised at his presence.

"Didn't I tell you to report later?"

"Which part of your body doesn't feel well? I'll ask Yagen to see you."

"Enough! Just leave!" Slamming the table as she stood up, she cried, hiding the letter behind her. Walking nearer to her, he gave her an embrace, with one arm on her waist and the other on her head.

He could feel her trembling like a lost child as she wrapped her arms around him.

Cries were soon heard, as he felt his haori being gripped on tightly in her fists.

"I like you, F/N."

She stopped her cries for a moment as she looked at him with her puffy eyes. Gliding her hand down his face, she made her confession too.

"I like you, Yasusada."

He then used his thumb and wiped her tears off. Both soon broke into smiles as they hugged again, enjoying each other's company.
