"Sorry, Kuniyuki..."
She handed the bag of cloth to the guardian as he knelt on the ground, unable to accept the truth. What wrapped within was Aizen's broken blade.
"Why didn't you give him an omamori when everybody has it!" He lashed out at her, grabbing her shoulders and pinning her to the ground. His hands then went for her neck.
If only she had gave him that damn omamori..!
"B-Because I-I only h-have five of t-them.... Argh..." She squeezed out her words, her weak hands trying to remove the force from her neck.
"Akashi Kuniyuki! What are you doing!"
Mitsutada then used the scabbard of his sword and hit his head, knocking him out. Moving his limp body aside, he then shook her shoulders before realising that she had no pulse nor breathing. Resuscitation was what he did immediately while shouting for help.
"Wake up... Wake up... F/N..." He murmured while pressing on her chest before the sage took in a huge breath and coughed violently. Picking her up, he then calmed her down before carrying her to the infirmary.

Akashi Kuniyuki found himself in chains after he woke up. Hotarumaru was standing in front of him with a furious expression.
"Hotaru-"
"You're not my guardian, Akashi! You tried to kill Aruji!"
"It was her fault! Aizen would have been here if she gave her an omamori!"
"Do you know how much her health suffered because of those five omamoris! She's a human, not a god like us! We can be reborn with their powers, but she can't!"
"Akashi Kuniyuki. The verdict from the Government has been delivered. You're therefore sentenced to death." Hasebe announced before ordering some swords to take him to the smithing room for dismantling.
"No! That's her fault! Let me go! Where are you taking me!"

"Uwah!" He jolted up from his futon and panted heavily. Looking around his room, it was still in the wee hours.
"What's wrong...Kuniyuki..." Aizen said with his eyes half open. Akashi's eyes were filled with tears and hugged the tantou tightly, hoping that what happened in his dream would remain as a dream. Aizen was surprised at his actions, but he patted his back to calm him down after hearing his dream.
"Don't worry, I won't die."
