"Fell asleep, huh?" He was about to touch her shoulders before his brother stopped him.
"Jirou."
The younger sword knew what his brother was trying to tell him just by emphasising his name. He was close to the mortal beings while his brother was a 'heavenly' being since he spent most of his time in a shrine where he was kept at after his master passed on. The name 'Brother' was just like how they were named based on their length of their blades, and he didn't feel uncomfortable at all even if he knew that they were forged by different smiths.
It was just a term, a name or even a rank to distinguish the both of them.
"Brother~ Wanna drink?"
"No, thank you. Please do not drink in front of Aruji. It's rude."
"Rude? No~"
Taroutachi then went to get a blanket and covered her curled up body with it before sitting down beside Jiroutachi who was gazing at the faraway scenery and sipping wine at the same time.
"Jirou, do you harbour feelings for her?"
"Not at all! Completely not." He replied while forcing the cup full of wine into his brother's hand before drinking another mouthful from the jug.
Really? Does he not have a hint of like towards her?
His heart admitted that he had special feelings for her, and so did Taroutachi who hid his emotions so well that even the younger sword didn't know what his brother was thinking about. He was secretive as always. Perhaps 'cold' was a better word to describe him. It was hard to read his emotions.
"T-Tarou..."
Turning his head immense, she was heard murmuring his name multiple times, accompanied with creases on her eyebrow. Concerned with her, he then stood up and sat beside her before tapping on her shoulders gently to wake her up.
"I-It's you, Tarou..." She said while trying to calm herself down from the scenes that she had just seen and went through.
"Is it... a bad dream?"
"Yeah, it was..." She gave a long sigh as she rubbed her eyes before looking at Jiroutachi. The sight of his jug immediately created an idea for her.
"Jirou! I want a drink!"
"Yes~!"
"Jirou! Aruji, you shouldn't drink-"
"Just a cup will do, Tarou."
Walking over and sitting beside the sword, he poured the clear liquid into her cup, reflecting the pale moonlight. Downing the liquid, she then cringed her face before making a long sigh. His wine was great as usual, except that the dream was still fresh in her mind.
She dreamt that everyone was gone while she was left behind in the citadel. As she shouted for them, none turned their heads behind. Of course she knew that they wouldn't do that in reality, but dreams are said to be the reflection of the real world. Those scenes became fear to her.
"Don't worry, we'll always be at your side." He said gently. She then looked at him while feeling surprised that he knew what her dream was. Maybe it was just a coincidence or a wild guess as she thought.
Before she closed the room door, the sword pulled her wrist and let her land into his bosom. She could feel her tight arms wrapped around her body. With the close distance she could even feel his heart beating in a slightly quick rhythm. It was indeed a new side of him.
"This... I hope it did help you calm down, Aruji..." He whispered before breaking the contact and walking to his brother who didn't have a hint of being drunk after so many cups of wine. She was quite surprised and remained speechless before turning to bed once again.
"First love, brother~"
"That is just a way to calm someone down. Stop drinking before I take it away!"
"No!! Don't do that!" Jiroutachi whined and hugged his jug tightly while thinking about the acts his brother did.
"If only I could do that to her as well..."
