I'm not sure what we did this time but I know we probably shouldn't have done it. And I also know that Nathan probably had nothing to do with it at all.

Especially not with the reason why we are standing over our principals dead body.

Just kidding, she's just asleep, seems she forgot about us or didn't know we would be joining her

"Should we wake her?" Gem whispers

"No, she's the dragon lady, if we wake her we are so going to be murdered tonight" I hiss back

"What do we do then?" Gem asks quietly

"We wait five minutes and then leave and if anyone asks we have detention every Saturday for the rest of the month" I reply and she doesn't say anything but picks up a permanent marker

"What are you doing?" I ask her

"Having some fun, it's no crime" she replies and starts to draw on the new principal guy, women whatever you want to call her, no one even knows her name, it's hilarious and she's trying to scare us into obedience which is not working at all

Too bad Ms Edwards retired, she could have made this principals job so much easier

"So what happened with Amara? I heard she went crazy" Gem asks

"I think she got addicted to drugs and alcohol and lost it a bit" I reply

"How bad was it?" Gem asks drawing fake glasses in her face with a matching Harry Potter scar.

"So bad, I didn't even know why she got so pissed at us, hey, weren't you there?" I question

"You know more than me" she says shrugging

"Has it been five minutes yet? I'm bored" Gem whines

"Let's go then, there's nothing stopping us" I say

"Besides from me" the principal mutters sitting up, now she wakes up?

"Oh um yeah" Gem stutters

"Card to explain why you two are in my office at this time of night?" She asks

"Well we stayed late to study in the library and as we were leaving we heard a window smash, and we worked out it was yours so we came to see if you were alright and we were about to leave" I lie

"That was very good of you girls, it would be good if there were more people like you in this school, you two may go" she tells us and we nod smiling at her before turning to leave

"Hang on girls" she calls, does she know?

"Yeah?" Gem squeaks

"Did you happen to see who did it?" She asks us

"Um yeah, it was a girl who recently got expelled, Amara something, I can't remember her last name" I reply and she nods

"That was close" gem whispers to me as we leave

"I know, Amara is going to kill us when she finds out" I say

"I will see you on Monday" I tell her and she smiles before walking down to the train station 

I walk home without anymore disturbance

Dad's waiting for me when I walk through the front door, crap he knows that I have committed a crime, more like an accessory to a crime but still

"What have you been up to?" He asks me, suspicion laced in his voice

"Nothing, just hanging out with Nathan" I reply

"Are you sure?" He questions

"Yep, definitely" I answer

"Because I asked Nathan if you were with him and he said no" he tells me

Crap

"Oh no I was with him yesterday, and today I spent all afternoon with Gem judging people at the library" I say

"This afternoon someone through a rock at Ms Wellington's window, did you have anything to do with that?" He asks

What's with all the questions all of the sudden? He usually doesn't care about anything I do

"Nope, nothing at all, I'm totally innocent" I reply and he rolls his eyes but doesn't say anything else

"Seth is at his mums house tonight so it's just you and me again" sand informs me

"Yay no more annoying little brothers who steal babies" I say

"When did he steal a baby?" Dad asks sounding really confused

He really should pay more attention to us

"Um he didn't, forget I said anything" I say and run away

"Was the baby cute at least?" Dad calls after me

"What baby?" I reply and he laughs tiredly

At least Chaz isn't at home, if he was that would be terribly sad since he's old enough to have his own place considering he has a wife and child already and not even out of uni, his wife probably pays for everything and everything, leaving him without needing to worry about paying any bills and stuff

Which is really unfair if you think about it, at least I try and solve my problems myself and will admit that I shouldn't have let Gem throw the rock through the window and I shouldn't have helped her steal a nine hundred dollar dress last weekend, but she did get caught and she now has to do community service for it, but still, I do own up for my mistakes

Not to the police though, they don't need to hear why I punched my brother in the face and gave him a concussion when I was eight

Or why I hit my brothers best friend with a baseball bat too many times to count

It's really none of their businesses anyway, they are always trying to invade our privacy which we are always getting in trouble for disrespecting someone else's privacy

I mean, hypocritical much?

"What do you want for dinner?" Dad yells from downstairs

I think about it for a while

"Pizza!" I tell back

"Alright" he shouts
