Lucian’s POV

I didn’t know what to say, I didn’t know how to start and ensure that she would still listen.

“Trisha, you need to listen to me just for a few minutes,” I said, sitting down on the bed beside her.

“Why should I?” She asked angrily, rolling over and sitting up so she could glare at me fully. “You were…you…” She trailed off and shook her head. “Have you been cheating on me this whole time? You just let me believe whatever I wanted to believe so you could just fuck me whenever you wanted?”

“What!?” I cried, standing up again. It stung that she thought that of me, that she would think I was so low as to act like that. “Of course not, Trisha. Can you not see how much I care about you? I’ve given up my whole life to stay here with you, my home, my friends, my career.” She blinked but otherwise didn’t say anything. “It’s only ever been you, Trisha, ever since I laid my eyes on you.” She smiled softly.

“That…That girl was hitting on you.” She whispered sadly and I sighed and nodded.

“I know.” I whispered, sitting down again and resting my hand on her knee. “I’m sorry. I should have told her to stop. I just… She didn’t really let me get a word in and I’ve never had to say no to anyone before and I felt kind of bad for the girl.” Trisha paused for a second and then laughed lightly.

“You’re such a softie.” She whispered, resting her hand over mine. I smiled down at her, taking in her slightly red eyes. I wiped away the remnants of her tears and then pulled her against my side.

“Trisha, I need to tell you something.” I said softly. She had to know about Alex. Sure, it would be hard, but she still needed to know. “Alex was trying to break us up.”

“What? He wouldn’t…” She said, pulling away from me again. “I know you don’t like him but that’s a bit extreme…”

“I’m not saying it because I don’t like him.” I said calmly. I knew this conversation wouldn’t work if I started snapping back.

“He came over here at lunch and told me that he wanted to get to know me better, because we are together, and he suggested we meet at Oltenia at seven. He said you were busy and you’d forgotten to tell me about it. So I went to Oltenia for seven, but Alex wasn’t there. And then this Ciara girl started talking to me and…” I trailed off with a sigh. In hindsight, she was sort of throwing himself at me excessively. And whenever I started to mention Trisha, or having a girlfriend, she cut me off. So obviously she knew who I was. “You’re right, I shouldn’t have just let her sit there and flirt with me.”

“Alex told me we were meeting you at 7.30.” Trisha whispered. I looked up into her eyes and saw that she was slowly putting the pieces together.

“Once you left the club, Alex came over to Ciara and Ciara knew him.” I told Trisha. “Alex said that he wanted to break us up because I wasn’t good enough for you.”

“And he thinks he is?” Trisha asked and I shrugged and nodded.

“I guess.” I murmured.

A part of me wondered if it was true. I mean were best friends, so they clearly cared about one another a lot. And who was I? I was a nobody from another country, who was lucky enough to have good looks which resulted in a high paying job. I didn’t have a college degree, or any qualifications to brag about. Maybe Alex was right, maybe I’m not what’s best for Trisha …

“I’ve told him a million times that he isn’t.” Trisha said quietly, capturing my attention once more. Even though I was still slightly dubious about the subject, if Trisha thought I was good for her, then I wasn’t going to argue. She turned and looked up at me. Her lips parted, as though she was going to continue, but no words came out. Instead, she smiled gently and leant forward to kiss me tenderly.

My eyes slid shut as she wrapped her arms around my neck and pushed me onto my back before straddling my waist. Trisha didn’t hesitate before unbuttoning my shirt slowly and placing kisses all over the revealed skin. I was gasping and moaning within minutes.

Once Trisha reached the waist band of my jeans, she slowly made her way back up my chest again, her lips curved into a smile. I grinned at her, and then rolled her over so I was laying over her instead. I gazed down at her before lowering my head and capturing her lips with mine once more.
