I laid my book in the table as I sat down. I took a sip of my wine and enjoyed the beautiful view of Venice.

I had been here for 4 months now and I couldn't be happier. This place was so quiet. I had the best neighbours. And the food was amazing.

"Hey baby!", I heard as the door swung open. "Hey!", I said as she kissed my forehead. "I brought fresh mozzarella", she said. "Awesome! You're the best." I smiled as I took a sip of my wine.

I got up and walked up to her. "So can I get a little?", I asked wrapping my arms around her neck. "Depends. What do I get in return?" "Maybe a little something tonight, if you know what I mean", I said as my hand trailed down her back. "Deal!", she said. I smiled and pecked her lips.

She cut of a piece. "Here you go", she said. I took a bite. "So so good!", I said. She smiled. "You're so cute." "Says you", I said as I leaned in to kiss her.

We got interrupted by my phone ringing. I grabbed it off the table and answered it.

"Rae? Hi", I said walking to the balcony.

"Hey Dems. Just wanted to ask how you're doing", she said.

"I'm good, thanks. How are you?"

"Pretty good. How's Italy?", she asked.

"It's so beautiful! You should totally go check it out sometimes!", I said.

"Yeah, maybe I will."
"Sorry, I have to go. Enjoy your time there. Bye", she added.

"Uh, bye."

I hung up thinking what just happened. She sounded so off. Depressed almost. There wasn't a single cheer in her voice. Maybe I should ask Marissa to check on her.

My thoughts were interrupted by Lucia wrapping her arms around me.

"Everything okay?", she asked. Her English was fluent, but the Italian accent made it adorable. I smiled and grabbed her hands. "Yeah", I said pecking her lips.

"Let's grab some lunch down the street", I said.

"Sure." She smiled and walked back inside. I followed her as I finished my wine.

I put down my glass and grabbed my stuff. "Ready?", I asked. "Yeah", Lucia said.

-

"So, what are your plans?", she asked as I took a bite of ny pasta.
"What do you mean?"
"Like, are you planning on staying here or?"
"I will go home eventually. I just don't know when. I'm not in a rush", I said smiling. She smiled back at me as she grabbed my hand from across the table.

"I love you", she said as I took another bite of my pasta. I choked a bit at her words.

I took a small sip of my water.

"Are you okay?", she asked. "Yeah.. I just, uh. Excuse me for a minute", I said getting up.

I walked into the restrooms and leaned against the wall.

"This can't be happening now..", I said to myself. How was I supposed to tell her I don't love her back. I mean, she was great but.. I still loved Rae and that wasn't going to change anytime soon. I took a deep breath and walked back to our table.

"I'm sorry", I said as I sat back down. "Don't. I get it", she said. "Next time, just tell me if I'm going too fast", she said. "Sure."

I took my last bite of pasta and finished my wine.

We asked for the check as Lucia had just finished her meal.

"It's on me", I said when she tried to take the bill. She smiled. I handed the money to the waiter and thanked him.

We got back at the apartment and Lucia plopped on the couch.

I put down my stuff and walked over to her, crawling on top of her. A smirk grew on my face as her hands trailed down my spine, sending shivers down my body.

I placed my lips on hers as I let my hands explore her body.

She pulled off my shirt as the kiss got heated.

"Shouldn't we take this to the bedroom?", she asked.
I shook my head as my lips went down to her neck.

"This is perfectly fine", I said as a moan escaped her mouth.
