"No", she said when I wanted to add some dried herbs. "What now?", I said. "Dried herbs won't add much. Add a bit of fresh herbs", she said.
I sighed and added a few leafs of basil. "Better", she said.
I finished my glass of wine and grabbed the bottle. She jumped off the counter and took away my glass.
"What are you doing?", I asked. "I promised I wouldn't let you get drunk", she said. "I'm not drunk yet." "Just stop drinking okay?"
I took a sip from the bottle, not caring about what Rae said. "Demi", she said. I sighed. "Don't. I won't get drunk." "Your eyes tell me something different", she said.
She took the bottle and emptied it in the sink.
"Why would you do that?!", I said. "Because I promised you I wouldn't let it get this far. And I don't break promises. But you just don't want to listen." I sighed and went back to cooking.
She grabbed the cutlery from the drawer and kissed my cheek before she walked to the yard.
I smiled, realising I was being a dick before.
"It looks beautiful", she said as she walked back in. "You think?" "Yeah', she said.
"Like you", she added as she kissed my cheek again. I couldn't stop smiling.
I grabbed her arm, pulling her towards me.
"I'm sorry for what just happened. About the wine", I said.
"It's okay. I know how you can be with wine. Or alcohol in general", she said smiling. "Yeah."
I drained the pasta and scooped some on both our plates. I poured the sauce on top of it and topped it with a twig of thyme.
A grabbed the plates and went to the yard where Rae was waiting.
"Tagliatelle with bolognese sauce", i said. "Looks fantastic", she said smiling.
I eagerly waited for her to take the first bite.
"Pretty good", she said. "Pretty good?", I asked. "It's delicious", she said smiling. "Victory!", I said happily. She giggled as she took another bite.
"You can cook this for me more often", she said. "More often? So you mean.. We'll see each other more often?", I asked. She smiled and nodded. "Obviously. I mean, if you're okay with that." "Obviously!", I said smiling.
"So, what have you been up to? How was Italy?", she asked. "It was so amazing. I don't know if I should tell you this but, I met a girl back there",I said. "Why wouldn't you tell me? You had every right to see other people." I smiled.
"I've done so much there. I went sightseeing like, every day. I learned how to cook. And my neighbours were the best. They were the sweetest, most down to earth persons I've ever met."
She smiled while I was talking.
"Sounds great", she said. "You should take me next time", she added. "Maybe." I smiled. "I'll make sure you will", she said. "And how are you going to do that?" "You'll see", she said as she took her last bite.
"I'm so full", she said as she leaned back. "Really? Not even a tiny bit of room for dessert?", I asked. She sat up. "Keep talking." I giggled. "I got tiramisu in the fridge." "I got room for that!", she said smiling.
I giggled and stood up.
I grabbed the empty plates and walked to the kitchen
"I hope it tastes good", Rae said as she followed me with our empty glasses. "It'll be the best dessert you've ever had", I said. "I doubt that." She winked at me.
I giggled and opened the fridge to grab the tiramisu. "It's all saggy", I said pouting. "That's okay", she said. "We can replace that with something else", she added as she wrapped her arms around my waist.
Her lips were pressed on mine as her hands trailed up and down my body. She made her way to my neck softly kissed my sensitive spot. A small moan quickly escaped my mouth
"Or maybe it's better if we don't", she said pulling away. "Oh no, you started this", I said pulling her shirt.
I crashed my lips on hers as I pushed her against the wall.
