A Beautiful Disaster

Chapter 35

Rae's pov.

It's been 2 months since court. I've been visiting Demi as much as I could, which wasn't much actually. Paparazzi were following me most of the time, and I didn't want them to know where Demi was held.

I grabbed my stuff.

"Bye!", I said to my colleagues as I walked out. I got a job at a daycare. I watched kids and played with them. Sometimes I bathed a baby or feed them a bottle. I loved it.
They know about what happened. But they're all about new starts so they looked passed that.

I got in my car and searched through my bag. "Got it", I said to myself. I slid on the ring and smiled.

I looked around me. No one to be found.

I checked the time and headed for the prison.

On the way there, I stopped to get myself somethings to eat. I hadn't eaten all day, since I've been very busy with the kids at work and everything at home.

I arrived at the prison and parked my car.

"Hey Jacky!", I said when I got at the front desk. "Hey Rae!" I smiled. "I got you a little something", I said handing her a bag of fries and burgers. "You're the best!", she said. "I know right."
She opened the bag and grabbed a few fries. "Here's your badge", she said. "Thanks boo. See you in a bit", I said.

I clipped the badge on my shirt and walked into a room.

I sat down and waited for Demi to get here. I looked around a bit and played with my fingers.

After a few minutes, a figure appeared in corner of my eyes. I turned my head to face it and saw it was Demi. I smiled and got up.

I pulled her in for a hug and pecked her lips.

"I missed you and your kisses", she said as she cupped my face. I smiled. "Me too", I said. We sat down and held each others hands from across the table.

"You're wearing the ring", she said smiling. I nodded. "Does that mean.." "Yes", I said smiling. She took a deep breath. "I wish I could kiss you", she said. "You can kiss me when I leave", I said and giggled.

"Leave then", she said. I raised and eyebrow. "Really?" I got up. "Well, see you later then", I said. "No!" She grabbed my hand. "Don't leave", she said pouting. "You told me to." "I didn't mean that! Please, sit.."
I smiled and sat back down.

"How have you been?", I asked. She smiled. "Pretty good. I finally beat Macy at basketball!", she said. I smiled. "Finally!"

"You look beautiful", she said. I felt myself blushing, since I didn't see that coming. "I look like shit. I got here straight from work. I'm probably still covered in baby vomit somewhere", I said laughing. "I still think you look beautiful." I smiled.

I had missed her compliments, her smile, her touch. I'd missed everything.

"Could you get me some skittles?", she asked poiting to the machine. I nodded and got up. I searched through my stuff for some change.

I threw in the money and pressed the buttons.

"Here you go", I said handing her the box. She smiled. "Thank you!"

"So, do you think you can do this for another 5 years?", I asked. She shrugged her shoulders.

"Yes and no", she said.

"It's not too bad here. I have friends and all. But I can't miss you for another 5 years. I can't see you everytime you get here, and not do anything. I can kiss you when you get here, and I can kiss you when you leave. But that's all." I nodded.

"Same here. But we'll make this work", I said. "I promise."
