Rae was coming home in 3 days. I still hadn't really spoken to her. Her brother had been in an accident the other day. She's been really busy with him.

I just sat in the yard, looking at the clouds as a few birds passed by once in a while. I took a sip of my iced tea when I heard a noise coming from the hall. I slowly stood up and peeked through the window behind me. It was her.

Rae.

I ran inside and swung my arms around her neck. She dropped her bags and catched me.

"You're home!", I said. She wrapped her arms around my waist and held me tight. "I'm home baby. I've missed you", she said. "I've missed you too", I said. Tears formed in my eyes. She pulled away and looked at me. "Hey, don't cry", she said wiping away my tears. I hugged her again. "I'm sorry", I said.

She pulled away again. "Sorry for what?", she asked. "For crying", I said.

I wasn't going to tell her just yet. I wanted to enjoy her presence for a little longer.

I pressed my lips against hers. The lips mine had always belonged to. The lips I've been craving for ever since she had left.

She brushed her fingers through my hair.

"You've been crying for a while. I can tell. Are you okay?", she asked. I nodded. "I just missed you. That's all." She pecked my lips.

"I'm never leaving you again", she said. "I doubt that", I softly said as she grabbed her bags. "What did you say?", she asked. Her beautiful blue eyes stared right into mine. "Nothing. I said I was glad." She smiled and pecked my lips once again. "I'm going to unpack real quick", she said. "I'll be right back." I nodded and kissed her again.

She went upstairs as I walked into the living room.

After a little while she came running down. "Who's is this?", she asked holding up a bra. "Your boobs are bigger than this", she added. I looked down at them. She was right. I must've missed it while cleaning up that morning. There was no way I could talk myself out of this.

"Can you sit down with me, please?", I asked nervously. "What's going on?" She walked up to me. "Please sit."
She did as I said.
"I uh, I have something to tell you", I said. Tears were forming in my eyes already. "Something happened.. while you were away", I said. The light in her eyes started to fade already. She moved back a little and shook her head. "There was a girl.. We uh.. I was drunk, and.. I have no idea why I did what I did. I can't even remember what happened.." Tears were starting to roll down her face. The light in her eyes was now faded, completely.

"Baby", I said wanting to grab her hands.
"Don't.." She stood up and walked away. I followed her and stopped her. "Please..", I said.

"I had a fucking shit day! My brother passed away, the flight was utter shit, and all I wanted was to see you again.. And now this! I don't know what to do with this.. Luckily I haven't unpacked everything yet."
She walked upstairs and came back down within seconds.

"Rae..", I said sobbing.
"Don't even dare.."
She grabbed her coat, keys and phone and walked to the front door.

She stopped and turned around. "I loved you, you know.. I really did."

Her hand reached for the engagement ring around her finger. She looked at it for a second, tears coming down her face.

She held on to it tightly, and then threw it towards me.

"I don't think I could ever face you again.. I want you to stay away from me.. Forever..", she said. And with that, she walked out.

I let myself slide down the wall, and tightly held on to her engagement ring.

"I will always love you", I whispered.
