Is this it?"

Sun rays patterned over the window, she sat leaning against it, feeling the heat brush her cold hands and to feel the shadow of depression lurking into her head. Blood painted hands, gaping wrists and the orange bottles thrown around the destroyed room.
She held the knife in her hand, dragging it across the white wood window sill that she sat on. She was silent, shallow breaths were the only sound in the room. Eyes sore, red from exhaustion and crying. Her cheeks were patterned in blood splatters and hollow shadows. The sun blinded her, she hated summer so much now.

Your heart is a city
Your eyes are a fixture
The mind tells a story
With ten thousand pictures
We stumble upon it
Fell through the ceiling tiles

Beyond upset, she was hollow. Briefly, she looked around the room with a poker face, admiring the mess. A non humorous chuckle arose from her throat. She looked at her jean clad legs, at her stomach and then her hands. Bruised knuckles, the fingers bloodied and sore.

"You've gone this far, are you just going to give up now?"

"Yes...yes I am." She whispered aloud, her eyes fixed on the brink of a sunrise. Her eyes were dull, her voice was gravelly and sick. She ran her fingers down the side of her wounds, feeling the blood between her fingers.
"Is this what your life has lead up to?"

We drew up a landscape
We climbed down a ladder
Carved out a memory
To follow the pattern
And now on a clear glass wall
I can see my faith
You know it's never too late

"You can't, think of them! How much damage you'll do to them!"

Wheezing, she hacked until blood pooled in her hands. She wiped it off with a tissue and aimed for the bin, missing.
"They'll be...perfectly fine." She said in a harsh tone.

"Are you that stubborn?"

Oh, if you're hearing this
I must have made it through
Oh, when the clouds are burned
Open up my window
I see the sky's still blue

Chuckling dryly, she saw the sun peak over the edge of the hills, its bright shine revealing happy people...happy.
"You tell me, to be honest I don't even know who I am anymore." She toyed with her wristband.
"Sometimes, life has to end sooner than others. It's my life and if I want the pain to end then I'll end it myself, no one else is going to." She looked over to the sleek, grey cat whose eyes were one purple and one blue.

"You're an Avenger, you've put up with this your whole life, why now?"

"Exactly, I've put up with it for twenty six years, it doesn't look like  the pain is ending any time soon, Kraus." She looked at him with tear holding eyes.
"What about him?"
"Exactly, what about him? He's dead and he ain't coming back again. Face it Kraus, I'm a dead woman walking."

The cat whimpered, elegantly hopping onto her lap and rubbing his head on her shoulder.
"It's too late Kraus, I hit the vein and I'm bleeding out. Just because I'm a super soldier, doesn't mean I can't die. It's best like this."

A vision is a portrait
A palate of colors
We swim in an ocean

"God ______, why are you so...human?" He growled.
"Because Kraus...because right now I'm not." She looked the cat in the eye with a serious motive.
"Kraus, go find yourself a pretty boyfriend, get married, adopt a kid and name her after me."
"Heh, yes o-of course." He cried, returning to his human form. His clothes were black, silver hair rested on top of his head with bright purple and cornflower blue eyes that shined with tears.
"You tell her bout how much her Aunt woulda loved her...tell her I wasn't a bad person, lie if you have to."
"You're a good person, you're such a great person."
Kraus turned into wolf form, obeying his masters orders as he ran out of the room.

If only she knew how smart her companion was...

Oh, if you're hearing this
I must have made it through
Oh, when the clouds are burned
Open up my window
I see the sky's still blue

The emergency signal went off at S.H.E.I.L.D, Captain was first up to the helicarrier.
"What's the mission?"
"I'm not sure, readings are unclear...it was sent by Kraus."
"The shapeshifter?"
"Yeah, he sent us a location...oh my god."

"What?"
Natasha's eyes were wide, blurring with tears. Steve was beyond concerned.
"What, Nat what is it?!" He yelled.
"It's Stark tower."

Steve kicked down the door to Stark tower. He raced up the first set of stairs, trail of blood dripped onto the pristine, white floor.
"No, no!" He shouted, shoving agents out of the way. He raced up the stairs.

Oh, if you're hearing this

"______!" He cried out, searching the Tower for her body.

I must have made it through

"______, please!" He pushed past a sleepy Tony.
"Keep it down it's early." Tony noticed Steve's tears.
"What the hell--"
"Wanna make yourself useful? HELP ME!" Steve pleaded, tears falling.

Oh, when the clouds are burned

"Where would she be?"
"Her floor!"
They charged up the stairs, Steve running faster than ever.

Open up my window

Steve burst open the door, running to her side. Her body was limp, blood trickling down her waist and wrists.
"______, oh god no!" He cried into her shoulder.
"Go away, go!" She clawed at his chest.
"No, I'm not leaving you here!"
"HE'S DEAD STEVE, HE'S GONE, he's-he's gone."

"Shh. I'm here." He held her as she sobbed, the paramedics sewing her cuts and pumping blood into her.
