I stared at the ceiling while Fisher was in the chair and Amber was in the chair next to him. The door opened and I tried to see who it was. The sound of boots slowly walking over told me it was one of the guys.
"How you feeling?" Logan asked. "Hurt." I told him. He sat down near my thighs. "If you told me who that man was and what he was doing then I wouldn't have questioned it anymore." He said quietly. He got up and moved closer, crouching near my head.
"I always thought that being in the hospital was like being in a prison." He said. "Same here." I told him. "I could only stand a few days here then I've got to be home." He said. "I don't want to be here longer than I have to." I told him. He smiled.
"Least you get a long break from them." He said. "But I wish they never even thought about using me as profit. That's why their doing this." He moved closer setting his arms up on the bed.
I told him my entire story up to now. "If your ever looking for a safe place my parents will let you stay at their house. As goes for the rest of my family." He told me.
Then kissed my cheek. I blushed or tried not to. "I would date but there's just too much to do right now." He said. "Same here." I replied.
He smiled warmly. It made me warm inside. He sat up on the bed facing me. The door opened and the rest of the guys came in. They were happy to see I was ok.
About an hour later they had to leave. Logan waited until after they left to kissed my forehead. "I'll bring you some good food tomorrow instead of this crapy hospital food." He told me.
I smiled and watched as he left. The stay maybe worth while.
Logan's POV
My dad texted me as soon as the door closed behind me. He wanted me home to help out. I walked out to my truck and got in. My dad called a few seconds later.
"Had to visit a friend dad." I told him as I answered.
"You told me this morning when you bolted out the door. Before you got your chores done." He said.
"I know I'm going to get them done. I promise. I will even go check cattle afterwards." I told him.
"Then you better be on your way home."
"Yes sir I am. I'll be there in a few minutes." I said before he hung up.I knew I should have done my chores, but I really wanted to see how she was. I knew something was going on with her. The first two weeks of school she was happy and running around. Then she wanted to sit and rest for the most of it.
That changed everything. I don't even think she knew we were paying attention. I pulled up in front of the barn and got out. Two out of four of my younger brothers were brushing horses.
I mucked out stalls and helped them move them out to the paddocks. My uncle was out training a horse. Rylin was trying to halter break a yearling with Zach watching close by. My aunt Hedli was in the office while my uncle Colt was in grandpa's office doing paperwork.
Everyone had a place here. Both my parents were out somewhere working. Once I was done cleaning tack with my twelve year old brother Jax we rode out to check cattle. Then I went over to check on the cattle at Wyatt's place.
He was active military and was shipped overseas at the moment. Bailie was working at the vet's office so that left me, Rylin, three of my four brothers the fourth brother six months old, then three other boy cousins. All ten years old, triplets.
Five kids in each except Zach who only has Rylin.
Tessie's POV
I sat bored in the hospital bed. I told the nurse not to let my parents in because I would be in a more worse condition than when I arrived. She understood perfectly when my parents tried to come and see me.About nine Logan called to see how I was. I told him I was fine and that my parents tried to come by. He sighed into the phone. "I wish you really weren't in there." He told me.
"I know but sadly I have to."
"I'll get my chores done early so I can come see you." He told me.
"Ok I'll see you tomorrow."
"Night Tessie."
"Night Logan." We both hung up and I tried to get some sleep. It was especially hard because of the yelling in the hall.I knew it was my parents trying to get in to see me. I also knew they were going to kill me here. It was a complete possibility. Then it got quiet. That scared me the most. Tomorrow night I want someone staying here with me. I don't care who it is just as long as they keep me company and my parents away.
I fell asleep with tears rolling down my face.
